people often say to me "say sheepers, it looks like you've got a whisker of room under that front guard, why don't you run 9's?" and i say "thats a curse word brilliant idea, ill get onto it posthaste!" so i did. front = 17 x 9 +17 with 215 40 17's back = 17 x 10 0 with 245 40 17's NO mods to the car other than lipped guards, and the plethora of suspension mods and custom made bits but in theory, you too could bask in the glory. as per usual, my photo taking skills are aids but I'm sure someone who sees it in person will confirm the pure awesomeness that is 9's on the front of a celica. BEHOLD! sheepers.

Mike went and got married, and the boss and i had the honor of driving the bridal party to the wedding. the bride's dad drove Mike's car and we drove my two. my car is purple, not black. was pretty cool. outdoor wedding with a big driveway so the whole crowd got to see us roll up. had a choice time. and afterwards someone gave me a beer!! closely followed by many, many others (after we put the cars to bed for the night of corse) Mike will have better photos but you get the idea... sheepers.

yep, stock ECU. and its manual using a W57. there is a company here called "A1 Turbos" that makes bellhousings and flywheels for 1UZ's. i bought everything i needed for the manual conversion from them. all the information you will need to get your 1UZ running is on a forum called lextreme (http://www.lextreme.com/forums/). its a very good forum for all aspects of the 1UZ. search there and you'll find everything you'll need.
good luck with your swap, its definitely worth it, the 1UZ is such an excellent engine, especially in something light.

well ive done about 2000K's in this car now. ive driven it to work every day since it got legal. the only thing that has happened is a relay (brand new bosh one) stopped working, but i fixed that pretty smartly. been slowly putting sound deadening in it and restoring and replacing the bits of interior trim that i have. the V8 is so sweet. its completely different to driving my other one. when you stand on the throttle it goes right now, no turbo spooling, just thrust. and the rear end is so planted. its worlds away from a live rear axle. the cornering grip is phenomenal!!! i need to reco my steering rack because its curse word. i took a gamble on the second hand one i bought and lost. no biggie, it works, just not as well as id like. apart from that I'm going to keep driving it. in fact, I'm off to see my dad right now.

such a sweet car!!! i love everything about it. well done man. R888's are very sticky aren't they? not so flash in the wet though..... i found they "tracked" a bit with ruts in the road, i guess its because the sidewalls are so stiff. anywho, keep up the top work, this car is the choice!!!

i made it the same as stock celica, 1350 face to face (i think, or is it 1370, one of the two.....) i wanted to run uber dish on the back and at some point in the future ill get some custom wheels made with yet more dish. so i made it pretty narrow.

some pics of the subframe in the car. its all bolted in and finished. so happy about that...... front struts to make now, they will be the standard MR2 insert/RA28 tube cut down with a threaded sleeve on the outside. ive used to strut out of my 23 as a mock up and it will clear, ill have to put the threaded sleeve a bit further up the strut to clear the wheel but i can still get the ride height i want no problem. will be making them tomorrow. if i can get the bits.... your pal, sheepers.

today was one of those days when i should have stayed in bed. however, given a total all out assault by the gods of speed to derail any attempts i made to progress i still managed to get something done. this is the finished item. arms are HPC silver, new nolithane bushes, rear diff cover is HPC red (mandatory for certification is a red diff) and the cradle is just spray bomb black. and here are some abysmal photos of the floor. its got a coat of POR 15 on it, the wheel wells will get some other paint for wheel wells that i have. probably tomorrow. the subframe is in the car now. with any luck i wont have to take it back out for a good long while. ill take some pics of that tomorrow. the car is going for certification on the 28th, which is pretty cool, i have front struts to make and a list of little things to take care of but its pretty close now. christ I'm knackerd...... your pal, sheepers

the power steering box and pump from any CROWN up to MS112 will fit and work. you'll need the column as well because the power steering column has a shorter stub/universal bit on the end. i cant remember if the whole column will fit but I'm sure the steering shaft through the middle will.
ive had quite a number of these cars so if you need any info then drop me a line. your pal, sheepers.

I'm havig a glass of wine.
why are you having a glass of wine sheepers?
because there are no more holes that need welding up in my car, there are standards approved rear seatbelt mounts welded in the rear. there is no more welding required, thats why!!
my sheepers, you must be pretty happy that you've finally finished welding bits to your car?
yes, curse word yes, yes. its a pretty big milestone considering how much had to be done. now ive only got a few things left, the biggest of which is making the front coilovers, to do and it will be legal. sweet.
i don't think it will go through first time, you know how it is, they always have to find something wrong, even if its windscreen wiper blades. but wont be long now.
i think you deserve another glass of wine!!
so do i.

i used a proportioning valve like this one, works fine. you don't need to have the factory valve, but you do need something that has a residual pressure circuit in it (the one above does not have this) if you still have the drum brakes on the back. I'm sure someone with some expertise in the brake field will be able to help you out. sheepers.

a couple of photos of the car I took in the sun yesterday. ive driven about 100 odd k's in this and it feels great to drive! its not set up at all but it feels very sure footed on the road. I'm going to start prettying things up now (the back end is all still bare steel and dirt underneath) ill take some pics of the finished sub frame when its all painted. your pal, sheepers.
