I wonder if the sales increase might be people who normally commute on the train now looking to drive into work? Social distancing not a problem in my neck of the woods, when the 5 mile travel restriction lifted I often found I could get a carriage to myself; Ghost Train by Chris, on Flickr

Currently looking for a cheap/small £30 a year road tax daily, something like an early C1/107/Aygo etc and there's definitely no huge price crash on the small/economical stuff. If anything they've tripled in price, with four figure sums being asked for 15 year old and fairly average cars that 6 months ago were well under £1k. That may just be a 'started college' phenomenon, (as 2nd & 3rd year students they'll sell the cars for partying money).

Ah the avantime I like these too There’s one sitting in a garden in south London I may get a pic next time I’m up there The ground-breaking styling was met with spectacularly low sales in the UK and the attrition rate is fairly high, sadly there are probably a few languishing in gardens and on driveways.

This would be one of my top tips to put up on axle-stands with a cover over it. A loaded low mileage 3 litre with a good colour scheme: What is it? Can’t see owt en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Avantime

Truth be told,I've wanted a montrose since around 1986. I first saw one when I was on the top deck of a double decker, front seat and there was one right in front of the bus. Birds eye view and I wanted one. Anyway, turns out, first car I bought was a 1977 Triumph 2500 for £25.00 and I was hooked. I've owned about 20. I have been restoring one since 2012 and need to get it finished. Small fortune spent. The Triumph needs the garage and I just cant leave the Mazda outside through winter. On top of that, the engine transplant I wanted to do fell through. I'm not in it for profit. Most old cars are money pits, let's face it, most of us aren't in it to make money, (although when it happens it feels good). Very fond of Triumph 2000/2500 but bonkers about the estate version. This Mazda is pretty special, (the reason I flagged it up when it was for sale).

Its the same one. I bought it. I could see that! You paid a fair price, prices are probably on the descent, you've ironed out a few niggles so probably not much profit in this.

I flagged up this nice example for sale a month or two back at £3½K. If it's as nice as this one that's probably what you're looking at top end. Pretty rare, seems a shame to muck about with it; www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1051083

Between 2 and 3 tops imo. Good photos and a hoover/wash would make all the difference. Been offered £3k already, as-is MOT history is dire and it's very poorly presented for sale. £5¼K would buy a reasonably decent one so I'd advise her to snatch that £3K!! A good weekend's valeting and a fresh MOT would push it further towards asking price.

I loved the shape of the Mk 3 Cortina anyway but the 2-door has that extra appeal. I can't think of the last time I saw a 2-door either, many decades ago. Nice, GLWS!
