Tell me about it. I'm enjoying it. Wouldn't have spent so much time money and blood on it if it didnt. I'm getting to the end of the fabrication part and i cannot wait. Ive owned it for over 10 years as well. I have a loose plan to have it on the road in 6months. Don't hold me to that though.

Lots of work. Not much to show for it. Ive had to change to a collapsible column to get an engineers certificate. This resulted in a complete steering setup change. I'm using one side of a steering rack and a bevel box instead of the steering box and relay levers. Ive just about finished the radiator and condenser mounts and hardlines. Ive modified a universal rear seat to maxamise the seating capacity
The underneat is now in epoxy primer and ready for seam sealer and undercoating.
Thanks Brad

I love VW wide 5. Here is my old Type 3, I think the 5 spoke drums make the look. Brad

The adapters will look ugly so you will end up run caps. Better just getting your stock wheels banded.

6v wiring is ticker than the 12v wiring. Voltage regulators are cheap for your gauges. The wiper motor depending in its current draw would be the hardest part.

Or convert it to 12v. You have now spent more time and effort keeping it 6v than swapping the generator and globes etc would have taken.

Hi Slowly making progress. you can check otanica on Instagram for a few updated photos but even there I'm not very regular. Other than the updates on Instagram Ive just about finished the 2 rear corner inner floor sections which will allow me to weld in the tubs fully and then start on the floors. ive finished the efi fuel tank. And some awesome dash knobs from Numnobs

I was leaving Bundaberg airport and they swabbed Bob Katter (their local Conservative MP's) stupid big hat for explosives. There wasn't any.

Greetings all Firstly we welcome the arrival of our second kid, Peggy. Mum and baby are doing great. Now onto business. Ive been busy in the shed getting the front wheel arches finalised and welded in. Ive also fitted the complete engine for the first time. Everything is tight but i don't have to modify great heaps of things. The standard exhaust headers and heatshield fit fine. Ive started on a new plenum but the inlet runners and injectors fit fine. The front of the oil pan needs a little tickling. Ive also started on the transmission hump and tailshaft has been shortened. Regards Brad

1940's Lincoln had pushbutton doors. Search Lincoln door button. You could use Insudtrial electrical buttons. They are usually panel mounted with a shaft sticking out the back.

I removed and repaired the middle member from under the door. The bottom was very pitted so i replaced it. i then tacked in the inner skin of the wheel arch over the repaired section. I need to do this to both sided and then there is ALOT of hammer welding which is slow and noisy hence i cannot do it at night, The whole wheel arch can come out which will make welding easier. I don't think i mentioned how much i love Cleko thingies until next time Brad

Hi all it been a while. Ive got back into the van lately. Here are some pictures of where I'm at at the moment. Ive made new front floors and started installing the wheelarches. Ive cleaned and painted the inside of the van and the chassis. The suspension parts are also painted and reinstalled. I'm just waiting on the left side stub axle. The bearing surface was chewed up from a spun bearing.
