So how would you be able to tell, I thought MOT testers weren't allowed to remove anything during the inspection, does that include opening the bonnet? and if you could see the bulbs, seen it do the funky startup but had a proper beam pattern would it still be a fail? Surely it should be based on the beam pattern not blinding other road users and not just because of the bulb? I'm not being a d!ck, those are genuine questions lol LED and HID have a very different colour range from filament bulbs so it’s pretty much immediately obvious for 90% or so of the ones on the market, being that most people want to fit LED and HID tech to be ‘brighter’, mistaking blue for bright. Granted there are plenty of filament colour LED systems available for ‘old’ cars that are going to be harder to detect but the bottom line is if you give discrepancies for ‘it’s ok on the beam setter’ you potentially give rise to ‘well that one was ok while mine isn’t’ and at the end of the day, it’s easier to just turn round and blanket ban the wrong bulbs in the wrong reflector type. I, as others have said, could get into the physics of it, and yes, not all conversion kits are equal and some do give good beam pattern but it’s just easier not to That's my point, if the light is bright enough, it won't upset oncoming traffic and the beam spread is OK then what difference does the type of bulb make? Its like rubbish tyres, people take cars for MOT's with rubbish Chinese brand tyres you know would be lethal in the wet (and dry sometimes) but testers pass them because they're "legal"

[br I’m assuming from the ‘we have to’ comment you’re a tester. So you’d be checking a light ‘doing it’s funky stuff on start up’ then ? You assume correctly We had a Fiesta mk5 in the other week. That had some shonky LED H4 replacements and very poor pattern. So I can understand the reasons behind it from the DVSA. But not all LED replacements are equal So how would you be able to tell, I thought MOT testers weren't allowed to remove anything during the inspection, does that include opening the bonnet? and if you could see the bulbs, seen it do the funky startup but had a proper beam pattern would it still be a fail? Surely it should be based on the beam pattern not blinding other road users and not just because of the bulb? I'm not being a d!ck, those are genuine questions lol

Anything half decent would cost £1500+
A quote of £5-700 you'd be throwing money away, you'd be as well driving it around in primer.

Corsa D seats did not fit , I’m not cutting and shutting a perfect pair of seats So I’ll sell them on and buy the correct Corsa c seats You shouldn't have to cut anything, I've fitted 2 sets of half leathers to mine, the first one ripped, and all I done was cut the blocks from the rails to lower them, I didn't have to cut anything. I can't find a proper pic of them, only this one where you can just see it.

It's still practical lowered, I can still haul a good full load to the dump or cart my bikes about without issue. I've had 750 GSXR's, 600 Thundercats, R1's etc in the back of it lowered with no issues. You are not helping !! It’s too tempting I'm just letting you see the possibilities lol

No lowering it needs to fulfil its job of being a useful van The Mercedes is sitting waiting to be collected by its new owner, Covid has curtailed collection for the time being unfortunately, I do need the space so hopefully it’ll be gone in the next two weeks It's still practical lowered, I can still haul a good full load to the dump or cart my bikes about without issue. I've had 750 GSXR's, 600 Thundercats, R1's etc in the back of it lowered with no issues.

Very tidy, I've always wanted a white one with red carpets since my uncle had one when I was younger.

FWIW the Corsa D seats sat a bit high when I fitted mine so I ground the blocks off the bottom to lower them. I also lowered mine and it totally changed the handling. This is how mine sits just now :

The waterproof stuff I used was totally encapsulated in clear flexible plastic (almost like it was potted in silicon) no PCB inside just stranded cable, you could tie a knot in it and top in a bucket of water and it still worked. Can't remember where I got it from, but I can find out, wasn't cheap though. You can used to be able to get them from ebay for 99p, seems to be the flat ones they sell now, I have both kinds in my van.

The extension was only applied as garages were closed because of COVID so people couldn't physically get a test done, therefor if you can present your car for a test then normal rules apply.

I watched the advert, that was enough for me and judging by the comments here I made the right choice.

Been out looking to buy a daily for my son today..no modern fiesta diesels found anywhere for sale! We came across these two escorts in Essex , both cars we like Curiously the white three door doesn’t exist according to the dvla? The number plate is on retention.
