Had to play about a lot with the fuelling to get it to run. Was way to rich for it to even start, bangs all over the place. Then lowered the main fuel had to drop from 11ms down to 4ms, to get it to run smoothly it had to be raised to 6ms. It was still very rich. There a lot of work to do before it will be usable.
As for the injectors, looking on the web and the advice from other 1uzfe turbos, 550cc were the one to go for. Looking to get 1.5 bar boost. I was so surprised how smooth it idled even with the the lightened flywheel.

Got the engine running and used the clutch for the fist time. Sound bad but then i remembered the sound of a Ducati. They have a dry multi plate clutch and sound like a bag of spanners in the washing machine. Mine sounds the same when the clutch is pressed. Do all triple plate clutches sound like this.
The gearbox wouldn't engage properly so it will all have to come of again, luckily the engine had to come out to sort out the body work and engine bay.

After rebuilding the original Stag clutch master cylinder, at least twice, found it wasn't up to the job. So had to adapt a Girling 3/4 clutch master cylinder to fit.
The thing took a while to bleed but then all of a sudden i had a peddle. Saying it stiff is an understatement. It almost needs a servo. The slave is a Howe concentric on to a tilton triple plate clutch. They will handle the power even if nothing else can, not very good for driving in traffic as there either on or off.
Dose anyone have much knowledge of the Link xtreme ecu or have any base maps for a turbo engine. Any ecu make, if they have a map for Nikki 550cc injectors even better.

Dash is sot of in with gauges working. The engine turn on the starter so it not seized. Got some fresh fuel just hope the pumps work.
All thats left is to check the looms, new plugs, connect the lap top and check the replays and hope she starts.
Then it engine/box out a bit of welding, respray, electrics and then wait for the sun.

Old rover engine went the way of most my spares, ebay. Was a good one though, it was Peter Coleman's Development engine out of his "Black Beast" Ford Granada.

The engine was out of a 1998 LS 400 Lexus with the VVTI engine. It one of the best engines ever designed, apparently. However, if I had have known I was going to put a Turbo on it i would have chosen the older non vvti engine as they have stronger rods and pistons but don't rev so well.
There's a good supply of these cheap engines.

Its took ages to get this far. Oil system is almost 100%. Still got issues with the cooler slightly leaking. Wiring up the ECU and all the other stuff is a different matter. The clocks, sensors, ECU seem to be communicating. ECU still at the early stages.

Selling a set of Wilwood Superlite's with vented disc. They were on the Stag and only taken off due to the upgrade. I wasn't going to replace them but they wouldn't fit the new Alcon (343mm x 32mm)disc. As normal they're on ebay No. 231208980664

Getting withdrawal symptoms again, not been able to work on the car for a week. Hopefully the new hose fitting, to replace the faulty one, will be waiting for me when i get home. Good ebay bloke, was sorry and sent out a new one without any problems. Also the Koso speedo turn up so thats another thing to fit. Should go well with the PLX gauges.
Once the oil system is leak free then it the turn of the inlet pipe work then fuel and finally the coolant pipework. Once thats all sorted it turn over time.

If your only using water and antifreeze then that brown (rust) will come out. You need inhibitors or anti corrosive additives, some mixes have it all in. I have always use 50/50 mix of a good coolant and water and it always stays blue, green or yellow.

It was going to be the start of the end. More part off, rad, intercooler and pipe work, so all the oil hoses could be tighten up.
Oil was pored in to the tank and a drill put on the dry sump pump. One hose fitting started to leak, so it was tightened but it still leaked.
Even though only one fitting leaked out of 46 I'm still gutted as the rest of the part cant go on until the hose fitting is replaced.

Plate allows you to fit an oil cooler or remote the oil filter. There's loads of CAD bits on ebay and on the Lextreme or v-eight sites. Most of my stuff was home made until i found a free CAD program and a good water cutting engineering company. There a bit more on the Stag website, www.stag.org.uk/forum/showthread.php?18964-1uzfe-vvti-Stag&highlight=bullstarz. The Stag members didn't like what i was doing so i closed the thread and started on here.

The car is starting to turn Black, matte black. The Plasti dip paint was too much as to was the vinyl wrap. So its just basic paint. Hopefully when it dry's it will loose the shine.

Having withdrawal symptoms as I have not been able to work on the car for a few days. The gauges are all different and the original Smiths one aren't that accurate. The PLX gauges will show/monitor the important things but the speedo and rev counter are problems as i need an electronic speedo. Not too sure how one of these would look. Will work out slightly less compared to a new speedo and rev counter. Will it be too modern for the Stag or just give it a new look.

Nearly all the engine bits finally done. A few clips and hoses left. Then a few sensors and the loom for the test fire. Body works another thing though.
