The bonnet on my old Merc W201 190E had those buttons on the struts which allowed the bonnet to go all the way up to 90 degrees so no head banging! My current Merc W211 does the same, which is a good thing as I need to fix the turbo soon.

That ecto 1 cruised past me in Sittingbourne last week, had his arm out the window, coolest MF in the world.
Is it the one that's been on a driveway in twydall for X amount of years?

I think they're just generic Brown and Geeson trims from the 70's/80's.

This sold on eBay for £530, I'm waiting for the guy to arrange to collect it, it won't drive very far so he's looking into having it picked up.
As for spec it's just an Astra 1.6L Auto, manual windows, manual sunroof, velour(ish) brown interior, it does have power steering!
Sold and collected.

I pulled of those pipes and the coolant seemed to be running through ok.
I've adjusted the idle, so it's running and took it out for a spin, drives ok, although it pretty much accelerates to 30mph on it's own!
Most definitely not the solution, but if your local and interested it might get you home!

Hi. Yes, still on the original pierburg 2e3.
I did think about replacing it with a Weber, but the cost (around £400 from webcon) put me off.

Still not running properly, and I need it out of the way, so price dropped to £650.

Thanks, I bought it to use as my daily driver, if I can get it running I'll keep it, as you're right you don't see them these days.
