What's wrong with the saloon Stanza to warrant it as a spares car? I know photos can be deceiving when it comes to flattering the condition but at 38 odd years old it seems to have faired well. Unless the underside is like a teabag.

What a find !!! It certainly is a rare survivor and goes to prove that there's still gems to be discovered out there. I love that it retains its originality (other than the repaint) and looks to have fared pretty well seeing as its counterparts have dissolved long ago. Seeing as it needs repainting then i'd go back to the original blue, especially as the engine bay is still blue so going back isn't a huge issue. As a huge 'everyday classic' fan this is well and truly BOOKMARKED.

Even before reading the comments i thought it was a scam. Phone number is protected behind another number, no information as to the sellers location, plus the photos are grainy and look copy and pasted. Sadly £1000 Novas don't exist now, retro tax has put paid to that. This smells very suspect indeed.

This looks like a very interesting project. The bigger Opel saloons get overlooked by most people, here in the UK more so. 2 door also is a real rarity. BOOKMARKED..........

I've watched your build on You Tube and the thought of you trying to repair the gout in the rail made me wince, heat and paintwork don't play together nicely. Your solution isn't a bodge, you've done plenty to ensure that the rust is going to be slowed/stopped. If you treat the inside too that'll be fine. Your videos are brilliant, they show all of the reality of rebuilding cars.The BS and all, There's been a fair few times that i've done stuff on my cars over the years and thought' i bet no else goes through this curse word' Clearly they do, i'm glad it's not just me

This is an impressive rebuild, it's good to the methodical approach and care being taken to get the job done right. it takes longer to achieve but the car will look better and last a sight longer for it.

Paintwork is the most time consuming job, hours spent getting the surfaces the correct profile. I agree with you that nothing spoils a restoration more than a half arsed prep and paintjob. The times i've seen cars that have shonky looking front/ rear valances with bends and dings for example. Keep up the good work, nothing wrong with having a go. The satisfaction will be worth it.

Nice to see an early Mk2 getting some love. i'm a bit of a fan of the poverty spec cars. My dad had a Henna Red X reg 1600 GLS Hatch in the early 90s, my Grandad had a C reg Commando Hatch in the late 80s. Single wiper doesn't look right, but your car and all that.

The hazard switches are a pain. Mine has the wrong, newer, style on it. It should have the early one with the red telltale lamp, but its even harder to find one of those now. There is some plastic part inside them that is prone to failure; I don't know why they over complicated the design. Can you please post up a photo of the correct type switch, a mate of mine is heavily into BL stuff and might be able to assist with the correct replacement.

I've just read your entire rebuild thread and it's a fantastic job you've done so far. The descriptive posts will help others to figure out the various issues. I've got a real love of TVR's and to be honest your posts haven't put me off from one day obtaining my dream, i think you go into ownership with eyes open and except their 'quirks'. A bit like when buying any Lotus (locally built to me) Bookmarked and looking forward to more updates

That bulkhead has gone through one hell of a transformation. I'd like to echo Darren, that's got to have had more time and effort put into it by you than the factory ever did. As these were handbuilt does that make getting the panel profiles/gaps all the more time consuming to achieve? Or was it just the past'work'that created the battle?
