Smokem, thanks for the feedback.
Space becoming an 'issue' & been asked to move it off the drive...
Taken advice from you & others & accordingly readjusted...
Ideal for someone who doesn't want to have to break a whole car - would drop straight in to an SE6 Scimitar; now £325ono complete.
Will split engine & box if necessary - Engine & ancillaries as above (starter, full induction system, ecu, loom, 3-1 downpipes (needing work at collector)) £225
Gearbox £100 (includes aftermarket trans cooler).
Radiator - not included with engine/box -(uprated & with confirmation receipt) £100
Not able to ship at this point but can help load with engine crane.

Been asked to split this, but before I do (as I'd rather it went as a complete unit), price for engine/box/ecu/loom etc now reduced to £450 Anyone interested?

Due to a change in plans (going with v8), 1993 Cologne 2.9efi engine & 4-speed auto box are now available along with the ecu, starter, etc. An almost complete wiring loom is also included.
The original conversion was done about 4 years ago, upgrading a Scimitar to efi power from a 1993 Scorpio. Also available is an uprated Scimitar radiator (complete with receipt) for an SE6.
Pics via email - PM me, thanks.
Collection from Hereford. Not able to ship, sorry, but can help load with engine crane.
Engine, gearbox, ecu & loom £575 Radiator £115

Not what I usually see here but I thought I'd give RR a try...
Looking for a non-rotten (pref 350 powered) Chevy G20 / G30 or GMC Vandura. Ideally a LWB (125" Wheelbase) & with tow package. Seen too many rotters described as 'mint' & some which could never have passed the MOT they had & much worse than the '77 G20 Caravan we're restoring!
Afraid an Astro won't do (good vans but need greater towing capacity), although I might be interested in a Savanna/Express if not too pricy & pre 2000. Not particularly worried about paint & the odd dent but van has to be basically sound.
Many thanks for looking.

Hope someone out there can help as we've been let down twice this week. Looking for a bodily (very) rough, mechanically ok Scimitar (pref cheap for my 15 year old son to work on as a project (sneaky birthday present)! PM please if you know of anything. Am based in Herefordshire but can travel. Thanks in advance. Regards, Euan

Just read the thread from start to finish... BRILLIANT! Has given me back the incentive to get on with my projects again after health & life got in the way - thanks! Looking forward to following all future instalments.

Electrics nice & neatly done there. Looks good with the teardrop. So what colour is the truck going to be then? Go on, I promise I won't tell

Had a 2002 4.7 Overland with all the whistles & bells - oh that 4.7 V8 was pure audio-porn when you gave it a tight wire!!!
Didn't do it very often 'cos you could watch the fuel gauge drop!
Electronics are NOT their strong-point and ONLY get worse with age.
Please look for something else - I took a massive hit when I sold mine - wouldn't want you to get stung.

Ok, glad you're sorted with wiring. BTW, you NEED to change your sig - can't get much better retro than a 66!

Absolutely cracking pics, thanks - just sat & had a brilliant 10 minutes enjoying them with my son (& at 13 he was drooling over the Superbee & the satin black GMC pickup. He actually snorted at the hot hatches!) I just can't believe how much the dockyard has changed since I was last down there...

Rian, is anything you'll need to tow on the US system rather than UK wiring? I may have an electric brake controller & some US loom type stuff around if needed... You're right about Vannin - some can be a bit blinkered yet old mates like Phoenix (check his Dodge out, it's wicked) couldn't be more open minded & generous. If you're planning any major tinkering with paint or suspension & you need any rough rims to work around I'm sure I've got 1/2 dozen J 4x4 15" steels here in the right stud pattern. Let me know & I'll look them out. Cheers, E

"I bought a forester from an auction fitted with a switch that isolated all rear lights including brake lights?? I have my suspicions but has anyone else got any ideas why?" My brother in law had to deal with loads of this before he retired as a Traffic officer - he spent a couple of years working on Thames Valley's Disqualified Driver squad - this was one of the std tricks they'd use to try to evade pursuit - along with keeping the car(s) registered & stored elsewhere etc. etc. etc. They'd do anything to avoid being caught - including hitting someone else before the helicopter coupld get involved to force the chasing officer(s) to have to stop & deal with innocent injured victims & give up pursuit... SCUM!

I'd have to disagree with Pandaselecta - DO NOT touch a Range Rover... Been there, spent a fortune keeping it running and it was only 84k genuine miles with full RSRE history on a manual 3.9efi. Now gone to another mug home ;D. I do understand how you feel about the 190 - I sold mine after getting it back from bodyshop (untaxed / no mot driver hit me when parked) £3500 + repairs on a 1986 2.3 Cosworth and looked perfect! BUT it felt like she'd been raped... and I was running a Mosselmann Turbo setup (around 300bhp - a little up on std ;D). Really miss giving it a big boot (but not in the wet - much ) Personally, I'd go Yank - remember, you can never have too much horsepower! Good Luck

But seriously though - anyone prepared to give me a pm with some honest / constructive feedback. My estate agent is proving not the fastest to reply to my question about prospective client feedback & I'd appreciate an unbiased view. We'd pitched it at the average of 3 agents prices & now wondering if the barn is a problem for "sensible" potential purchasers (hence I will happily strip it down & take with me to be born again as 'Cave #2'!)
Thanks all,
Euan
