You could get a pair of 'taperlock' pulleys to replace the ones you have, and then a belt to suit.
To achieve 300 rpm, you need a reduction of approx 4.6:1, so, if you have a motor pulley of say 60mm you need approx 270mm on the drill spindle

To be fair, mine hardly has no real leaks. A couple of weeps but nothing to worry about.
There's no where to pipe in a breather on the throttle bodies and manifold, so I'll just put it into a catch tank. I had some issues with the original breather system when I first bought the car which is why I binned it off and just used the filter you can see on the mock up

Leaks?
It's a Triumph
If it's not leaking oil, there's none in it!

Hadn't noticed the privacy setting. It was just a quick mobile upload. Setting now changed :-) ChasR, so for the breather system, I'll probably just run it to a catch tank this time. As you can see, on the old engine it just filtered to air, and the current engine it is piped into the carbs, but I'm thinking I'd rather keep everything separate with the efi set up. I binned off the original breather system within a month of owning the car, and never looked back!

Thanks chaps Aaaanyways, More tinkerings. I said previously, that I wasn't happy with the link I made for the two banks of throttle bodies, and could see it failing. So, a new plan was hatched. This was to make something along the lines of your standard twin Webber linkage. A couple of Aluminium brackets were fashioned from some angle, and these then welded to a piece of Aluminium tube; I also made a couple of brass bushes for the ends. However, it soon became apparent that my original idea of making some levers to attach to the throttle spindles and using connecting rods wasn't going to work, as due to the compact design of the bodies and links, there simply isn't enough room to get a lever in and keep enough travel to open the butterflies fully. Bumhats! Plan 'B'. Back to cables. Two brass 'nipples' were made and soldered onto the ends of two short lengths of stainless Bowden cable. These could then locate in the original throttle actuators Now, I needed to anchor the other end of the cables to the levers I'd made on the throttle shaft, BUT, I needed to have some way of adjusting them to balance the two banks of ITB's to ensure sycronised operation. So, two short pieces of M5 bar were made, drilled and soldered onto the end of the cables. This then screws into the M5 rod ends I'd got already to use in plan 'A' A length of 1/4" bright round bar was cut and a couple of lever arms made. These were then welded exactly in alignment with each other. A quick coat of paint, and all fitted up;

Nah, not convinced mate. lol Also, due to the fact that the intake runners 'funnel down' from 1 5/8" to 1 1/4" this will cause an increase in air speed. The other thing to bare in mind is that these injectors are actually closer to the head than the main jet in the original carburettor set up. They look long, but the new runners are actually the exact same length as the stock inlet manifold runners

I think it was a silver top, but 8 years of running a diesel with no pre filter has taken it's toll

Should you buy it? Yes! IIRC, they're mostly Nissan running gear My Dad used to run an original Austin FX4 as his daily. It was massive. Like bus sized proportions! Excellent for driving round town at night with the back full of mates, and also bus lanes FTW! £100 FPN for using a bus lane is a private car! Never got done once ;-)

My mums 2000 MK3 Mundano is now up for grabs. MOT until middle of Feb, Tax until end of Jan 1.8 Duratec petrol. Very good runner. Recent ERG valve replaced. Needs two rear road springs, but other than that it's not a bad motor, just not very exciting! Pics to follow when it's daylight again. Looking for £350 No swaps/p-ex as it's my Mums car and they've just bought an Astra. Also got a set of Alloy wheels for it with good tyres. £150 for them. Located in Rugby. Call me, Paul, on 07843 604722 to view or buy

I've got a potato bucket account already, but was trying to avoid having to upload things twice. it's a bit of a ballache out here in the sticks. We don't have such thing as Fibre broadband!

Injectors are a long way from the valves... Can't see that being a problem tbh

Spray foam is the ultimate! It's what's used to insulate most steel narrowboats these days. Costs around £800 - 1200 iirc for a 60ft narrowboat. There's a few firms that do it. I'd have thought they could do a garage for not much more than the cost of the DIY kit you mention. Be warned though, it gets everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. It also sticks like sh1t to a blanket, so mask everything you don't want insulating!!! I've done my concrete lockup with polystyrene foam sheets. About 1 1/2" thick. The trick is, to glue them to the roof sheets so that there's no air gap. I got mine for free as a local sign maker had a load of it. Apparently it's used to protect the laminate boards used for shop signs etc before they stick on the artwork. Could be worth knocking on a few signmakers doors

Whilst I can never condone the wanton destruction of perfectly serviceable older cars for the sake of some hyped up bull about enviromental impact, it wouldn't be quite so bad if the modern equivalant they expect us to rush out to buy were in any way inspiring to drive or look at!!
