Is that the one with the wooden chassis?? Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.......🤔 Steel chassis, wood frame for the body panels on top of it

What a day, what a weekend, well, two weekends. But I took 30 minutes over lunchtime to run to the local village Hoo St Werburgh to collect and pay for parts. Sourced by these guys. . I used to have a weekend job in one of their branches when I was 18, staff discount definitely helped keep my car on the road whilst doing my apprenticeship 😂

How about a Toyota paseo? A mate has one coming up for sale shortly once he’s gotten a fresh mot on it

It’s a cool little beast that, I do like them in pickup and car form. The 1.3 is actually quite a sweet little lump, and pretty economic too.
I seem to recall someone on here had a 1.3 pickup and lowered it and it ended up on its roof (rears locked up due to the load proportioning valve)
Focus or mk4 golf front coilovers are usually used on the front of these (although they need the hubs opening up slightly I seem to recall) and I think mk4 golf rear springs are used in lowering the pickups (mk1/2 golf coilovers are used on the hatches)

Good to see another petrol t4. Mines a 2.0 which I had an AGG dropped in when it blew the ACC. You don’t actually need to redrill and relocate the dipstick, mines had the AGG tube bent to clear the rad and remarked to suit the t4 sump. When mine was swapped, they stripped it back to the block/head and rebuilt it with the ACC cam backing plate, cover, alternator and power steering mounts, the golf ones stick the pas pump very low. The golfs exhaust manifold does fit the later van down pipes, but the angle might be slightly different and need a bit of alignment
If your using the full golf wiring and ecu, yours should be a bit more fun than mine (still running the ACC inlet and ecu).

Looks like you’ve got yourself a project there for sure, but will be worth it once it’s done. This is my one (we’ve had it 25 years now and I’ve rebuilt it a few times 😂) Minispares and minisport are the normal go-to for parts, but also worth checking somerford mini and minimail too

A fast disappearing car these, and they are cracking motors.
I think wd40 is used to deal with superglue, worth a go?

Would it? Oh Does a beach buggy on a shorten beetle chassis need an IVA? Yep, unless it was done decades ago. You can’t take away from a chassis (unless it’s bolted on) without it losing its Id and needing iva’ing

Considering its just galvanised box section you could quiet easily reduce its length with the aid of a grinder and a welder 👌 Then it needs an iva,

I joined the queue at about 8:30 and was parked up on the stand by 9 so didn’t think it was bad at all.
Thinking back over it, the areas that seemed to cause delays that could have been slicked up was a few cars trying to get into the club/retro area that were challenged and argued their case (although that didn’t really slow things down in reality as we rejoined the queue on-site), but I think the main bottleneck was caused by all the traffic needing to route through the club stands and stopping to find out where the club stands was (or on to retro parking) as after getting my club stand details from Andy (and briefly saying hello, also contributing to the delays), I was on our club stand in under a minute.
In an ideal world (as if that actually exists) you’d split the retro parking off from the club parking (either via a separate entrance or at the entrance, but would require more ticket scanners/internet connectivity) and those going on club stands to know in advance which lane to go to (but I suspect there are last minute changes to layouts that make that difficult).
Only other thought was I only spotted the request to come in via jnct6 not 7 by chance, perhaps better comms on this for next year?
But considering the size and quality of the show and it’s location, the organisers do one hell of a job.

I rollered this 10 years ago with rustoleum, still shines up nice now. Did do the lower half of my t4 last year and got a bad finish, but I think that was a combination of cheap rollers and cheap white spirits to thin it

I’d vote for either a graffiti paint job (have a look at the gloss finishes Rich has got on his 121 and pollits zx) or have a go at a roller paint job. Did my mini 10 years ago and it’s still looking good.
A cheap paint job will tidy it up, but also not make you afraid to use it in case it gets chip or scratch.
