due to the fantastic wheather today I decided to take some pictures... click one of the pics to see the complete shoot... is it UFO? no it's the EVOLUON, former new technologies museum of Philips electronics, now a conference center. took the derby out of the garage, ran the engine to get the oil around and turned the wheels.. I cleaned up my garage and than i put it back...

did a rebuild on the air compressor to let it run on 230V... (don't have 3 Phase in the garage)
we bought a used power inverter from a professional woodsaw and fitted it to our 50 years old compressor..
runs like a dream now, and is adjustable in speed now...
so the rims are going to be sandblasted and painted, sanding is not my hobby..

thrown the ronals in the dishwasher: Most of the dirt and especially the grease went off them, I worked over them with a brillo to get the asfalt and tar spots of, this is the result till now: next is a bit of 320 sanding paper and then paint will be painted white (body color, same tint) to get a bit of a rally effect.

half a year ago I had never heard of retro rides or anything else than a Volkswagen... now the retrorides virus had struck me and I bought an 86 Swiffer... It's an original GS 1300cc, electrical mirrors (don't work btw) rear whiper (missing), a front spoiler, fog lights (missing) but for the rest pretty ok. I specially like the interior a lot! this was how it was advertised... and I went for it as it wasn't too far away.. together with Mark's celica, hanging around here too close-up... all three of my rides, with the Derby in the garage... and together with the 85 corolla automatic of another friend of mine.. plans? not big ones, use it as a daily and rebuild the other two.. polo is gonna be a naked racer and the derby is going to be dressed up but mostly original (just lowered and faster)

maybe use some motorbike carbs on it, not the cost of throttle bodies, but easier to hang on the original wiring loom, also great power and sound!

You in your 50 and I in my derby, now find some chicks who want to join us on the way...

not too many differences between the old and new one, except for the anti roll bar... I noticed some rust near the axle brackets, when taking off the old axle, off course i poked a bit.. OUCH!! off course the petrol filler is to blame since the other side seems to be fine... the whole corner came off, this will require some skillz to get back together.. and a new welder I guess... oh wait I was fitting the new axle.. mmh too wide.. after all not a very productive day, I just discovered a lot of work to do and didn't get anything done.. dan, I'm not only fitting an anti roll bar, also a bigger one in the front.. if I only did the rear one it would liftoff oversteer everywhere...

Got my G40/GT axle with stabilizer from under a pile of rubbish in my garage and decided to give it a bit of paint rust and dirt: the grinder sure knew what to do with it grind it into the air for me to breathe, uch uch cover it up with a bit of the good old zincspray I think I'll give it a coat of Unterbodenschutz(bitumen stuff) afterwards, just have to do a test on a bit of cardboard to see if it dries up ok and doesn't stay sticky...

1,5 mm is correct for an almost standard 1300 8v
I've got a 280 degrees cam in it for the rest it is standard..
