I have done nuffink over the festivities Both of us have been laid up with some sort of bug for at least 2 weeks, trawling the Internet of inspiration, I have been toying with the idea of better wheels as I'm not a lover of sprint wheels, a little while ago I bought a set of staggered ATS Cups trouble was that were a different PCD and on inspection, not going to fit either not being deterred I got the PCD altered and oversize inserts fitted so the wheels don't look odd or extra holes either, but never fitted the arch. Today, the swmbo and the dog went walks miles away, result, so I wrapped up and ventured into the garage, tape measure, vernier, plumb line and calculator in hand went a measuring, seems the axle position I used fro my initial setup measurements was offset to one side. so that was adjusted, I refitted the problematic rear wheels, and they are very very close to fitting the car, there is a possibility that I may need to trim the lip a gnats, I have some 195, 45, 15s hiding so I will get those fitted and see where this leads, lets hope this is Clutching victory from the jaws of defeat, or, Defeat from the jaws of victory,, I'm not quite certain yet,

Always had an interest in these, though admittedly mostly for that V8 motor. I photoshopped one as a coupe just last week. Tastes of TD21??

Nice Buy, Must admitI haven't seen one for a few years, Most of these big Daimlers were used as limos, and never very popular as a computer/family car. The probable reason whey the car is so unfamiliar to so many people is they were Banger Raced, they are pretty robust, and for that reason "Hunted down" by the banger people, Thus made almost extinct. EDIT, I noticed couple of nights ago there was a 4.5 Major Engine on marketplace, sounded like a can of worms, but you never know, www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/875125980766558/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Acb858e45-8f8c-4745-80d9-4f79de9be369BTW, according to FB its still for sale?

tilt and slide subframes needed maybe from another 2 door car to get adapted to your seats I get the tilting subframes, and I don't see why I cant modify the original frame, as long as I can make a locking assy, but what car seats use a sliding seat frame that will return to its original position

I'm absolutely sure this has been covered on this site, but I cant seem to find what I want to know. My seats that are in my car are not original, they are possibly MGB? and are so uncomfortable for me, that it makes it hard to drive much over 30 miles before I'm calling the osteopath, I have a pair of nice recaro type front seats, and want to fit them to my Toledo, I know its been done, and thats not an issue how to do it, what my problem is I have a 2door Toledo, and these seats do not tilt forward, they recline, but no tilt, any thoughts on how to make them tilt, or perhaps slide forward to gain access to the rear, then slide back to their original position?

Glen, you have been a bit of a stalwart with this Noddy Van, without a doubt, It would be beyond me these days, and sorry to say we are all getting older, and probably less fit than you were when you bought it, and, the fact that you need a engine crane to put a wheel on, or manifold or cylinder head, and Ill guarantee you cant lay on your back, with a gearbox on your chest and wiggle it onto the back of the engine, Its certainly beyond what I would consider healthy for me, and before I retired I was a heavy industrial engineer. I have a feeling no matter how good your intentions are, the build time is reaching into Infiniti. I think, although undesirable for ones Ego, it could be time to let it go,

Today was a momentous day, its been a while since I accidentally chopped thru my bespoke injection loom, I ordered a new one from DTA, which arrived today, I must say its so much better/nicer that the old loom wants to be for the cost, but I'm impressed. Family commitments will stop me getting out in the garage, and to top that my back has gone with a BIG PING, Osteopath next Tuesday

Probably better off without the VW, it had the Kiss of death on it, bought the car with a fresh 383 Donovan that hydro locked @6500k on the main strait at Brands on the first test day, all that was salvageable was the injection, (Hence the BBC), strangely, I had been somewhere and seen a Donovan SBC head being welded a few weeks earlier, because they had "Ported Thru" into the water jacket, coincidence?? probably not....

Your troubles with the Weaver pumps is not good news. I'll have to keep an eye on that. I've seen some pics of a BBC powered Type3 with Surtees valvecovers. That must have been yours. Must have been very exciting to be involved with something like that... It was featured in Car and Car Conversions years after it was sold, don't know what happened to it after that, Might have been exciting also prohibitively expensive, The story behind the weaver pumps, lay with the "Engine Builder" who we used to refresh the engine, I think it originally had a Milodon pump? replaced with a Weaver when refreshed, but the Weaver was ported differently to the original, the engine ran with good pressure until you drove it, any G force and you lost oil pressure, 3 rebuilds later we threw in the towel, with the engine builder saying it wasn't his fault..??

I'm following these posts with interest, Pinto is a Heavy engine just as well you are not using a Lima Pinto, I'm surprised you can find parts for the 2.0 where you are, is it cheaper to source parts in Europe? Weaver Dry Sump pumps.... many moons ago we used to race silhouette formula called Thunder saloons, after many imps and other small cars, we went for a VW variant fastback on a March f5000 tub, powered by a Surtees Can Am engine (Alloy BBC), we had nothing but grief with weaver pumps, ended up selling up because we wiped another crank.
