Something green comes this way. well whilst I was messing with the 2CV and missed a day or two it looks like you have added to your fleet, any more details on the new purchase ? Too modern for here. Maybe. Only 21 years old innit. ULEZ TAX exempt. Green. I do like a green car. 2.0 petrol manual. Roof works well. DRY inside. 103k Great MOT history. Minor “road trip” tomorrow @6.00 Another quirky weirdo on my drive. I was not planning any of this. HONESTLY. Missed out on buying this green death trap for only 120 Queens faces. Gutted.

I have been "messing" with something green this week it has been in the garage for a couple of days so we could take the petrol tank out to replace a 4 inch long piece of petrol pipe which we suspected had been leaking. It had been leaking well more like weeping out but still had to be changed on the older models there was an inspection plate under the back seat to make this job and tank sender unit replacement fairly easy but that was too easy so they did away it, progress............ I think not ! Could it be in order to make it a distinct “Dealer job” Like so many modern cars ?

Two small jobs done. One cosmetic. Someone in the past smeared some paint on the sills, followed by spraying something over it. So not having a throttle control fitted to drive I thought cleaning, sanding, priming and painting was the perfect way to start the day. Loads of thinners on a rag removed all the gloopy whatever was on the sills. Sandpaper and Scotchpad next. Masked up and painted. Result was as good as it needed to be. Other side was worse. Prepped. Done. Very pleased with that. Bugged me on the original photos and when I saw it. Knew I would get it done though. Then thanks to westbay forwarding me some info and a chat with zeberdee I took three parts of the problem down to the specialists. Relay 109 TPS EXU The ECU is a terrible mess. I hope they can sort it for me. Will be a few days So that’s another couple of things ticked off. Video uploading took 20 hours. Later. Sills tidied up video: ECU and TPS removal .

Best time to buy a convertible - when nobody wants to use one! Or just when you want it. I never allow fashion to dictate my choices. Hence my slightly off centre choices

Nice. You could probably not build what is advertised for £10k I see an Alfa on a Bellville number plate in the background. Seems modified too. Paul Y nice colour The GP (Transvaal, Johannesburg area) registration on the Escort is older series so maybe car has had one owner a long time (not sure) That is a lot of clever work done and I would like to believe its to a decent standard.

Have you looked at the OBD diagnostics, a throttle pedal should throw up a fault which can be read by the cheap ebay code readers you connect to your phone. The pedal sensors have 3 sensor tracks, if they do not match it throws up a fault which stops the pedal doing anything. As the sensing is being done by the ECU this can be a fault in the pedal sensor, wiring or ECU. As you can imagine water in any of the circuits is enough to change the resistance and therfore the signal. carefully check all the connectors for any sign of moisture or corrosion, if you can get the ECU out bring it indoors and put it in the airing cupboad or a bag with dry rice for a couple of days this can help to make sure it is dry. Morning Kevin. Thank you. Message as read. ECU removed yesterday. Update coming up.

Congratulations
I see it was a Worcester car. Reg prefix CW.
I used to work there as part of my Cape Town area. Dated a nurse there too.
Essentially a dry area known mainly for wine production.
So the car should have really good bone.
Love that colour and the steels change the look a lot.

As mentioned before elsewhere. I massively admire people who own one vehicle for 10.20. 30 years and keep changing it or just keep it standard. But sometimes we and our life paths change. It certainly has taken me this long to realise that I need to move three of my toys that have all served their purpose in time.
I don’t have any doubt this has taken a lot of your cerebral space recently and not so recently.
Life is good and life certainly goes on.
