Jeep DJ5 As already said, US Postal Jeeps hence RHD. 3.8 straight six, manual trans and rear drive. Truly awful things..... However, they can be converted to 4X4 using factory parts and the engine bays are enormous. Before you ask, yes a Dodge Viper V10 will fit. Most in the UK (and there's quite a few) have been on Ebay wrongly advertised as something else, numerous times. Usually with the roofs cut off.

The one on the right is a Daimler. Looks like a Magic Stick* to me. EDIT: Majestic Major. 4.5L Hemi V8. ;D DVLA says 2.5, so it's a Conquest. Who cares, it's still a Hemi ;D 1956, and last taxed in 2009.

I believe "The Black Prince" is missing its original interior, engine etc and has been reshelled.... it's about somewhere and was on eBay fairly recently. Not sure it had been shelled, but the rest is certainly true. Years ago I used to work with the guy who was selling it on Ebay, the car belonged to his Dad who owned a local garage (long gone, houses there now ) The car was bricked up in a side room to the workshops, covered in junk and in a very sorry state. It had no dash or seats, rust, dents, no bonnet and a 350 Chevy block dropped in the hole. I had a good look at it as I was shoving a Rover V8 into my FD at the time, the owner's son was quite excited to show me "How they did it in the factory"! I didn't realise the relevance of that particular car or the whole Black Prince story back then, but I did try to buy it. It was very definately NOT for sale! Wonder what happened to it after it was on Ebay?

Always loved this car back when Frosty's was almost stock My Dad had a couple of FEs when I was a kid, followed by a MK2 Carlton. This kinda shaped my love for old Vauxhalls, I've since owned 3 FDs. Damn those pictures of Big Bertha and the other FEs up ^^ there......... I need one baaaaaad! ;D

Mine 4 KC HiLites. As previously said, watch out for glare off the bonnet. They are actually pretty much useless as a result Oh, and the wind noise from them over 40mph is awful.....

A mate of mine has just sold his M715, ridiculously cool truck. 5.8 diesel, runs perfectly, in almost mint unmolested condition, 10 months MOT and free road tax. £4000! And thankfully, unlike most LHD classic Jeeps, it wasn't bought by a collector in Belgium and will be staying in the UK ;D

I'm a 3D Convergence op?camera assistant/Camera operator. So for those of you who have ever bothered watching the footy in 3D then that could have been me! Would that be for a small company with expensive trucks in High Wycombe? If so, I work next door.... I'm Senior ATA Panel Tech for a BMW approved crash repair centre, I'm approved and certified by BMW for structural and cosmetic aluminium repairs and have worked on everything from '36 Buicks to McLaren MP4-12Cs. Dabbled in restorations whilst self employed (SI Esprit, Alvis TD21, 911, SI E-types, etc, etc), did 6 months at a stone masons and 5 years in office furniture, but I still keep coming back to the crash repair industry. After 25+ years I'm now bored, the pay is rubbish and I'm fed up with unheated workshops. And I've just been told by my doctor that I need to do something else due to Vibration Whitefinger (HAVS). I sometimes play fetch with the works dog too I could happily do that all day! ;D

Had loads of all of 'em ;D Always thought they were underated cars. I had a MG Montego. My dad had a MG Montego. My mates had MG Montegos. None of them survived. One was stolen and parked upside down in a ditch, one caught fire, mine was involved in a horrific fatal accident (not my fault, not that it helps....) and my Dad's was last seen going through Milton Keynes auctions, strangely with about 100k miles less than it had when he chopped it in about a week before Had a Maestro Clubfoot D that went everywhere at full throttle, and still did 50mpg, a Maestro van that didn't want to go anywhere and about 20 Metros including a Turbo ;D I then moved on to luxury and performance with a MK1 2.7 Sterling and loved every minute of it ;D I was working at a Rover dealers when the Maestro Turbo was launched. First one we had was our demonstrator and the keys were duly handed to the sales manager to take home for the weekend. He drove it home (Blackbird Leys ), parked it in his garage, locked it, set the alarm and locked the garage doors. Never saw it again.....

The timing of this thread couldn't be better! I went down the 2 car route, but as I type this one of them is now en route to sunny Dusseldorf ;D The other looks like it's also sold so I'm now in the market for a 'Compromise Car' I work in the motor trade and have driven pretty much everything in the last 25 years. MX5s are great fun, but not too frugal and definately too small. Peugeots don't fry my bacon ( my old 406DT was a great car though) E36 BMWs just feel dated to me (I work for BMW ) Clever money, I reckon, is on VAG TDIs. Golfs, Boras, Passats, A3s, A4s, A6s, Octavias, etc. Prices for late '90s models is at rock bottom, they're very easy to tune, there's a huge aftermarket support, they're good to drive (and easy to improve), they're well specced, they're comfortable, and they're capable of 50-60 mpg. Another option? Ford Focus. Not as well nailed together as a 'Dubya, but great handling, rock bottom prices, and again easy to play with. I'm currently smoking about in a 2000 1.8 TDDi, it's ex plod, 100+k miles, lowered 40mm, smokes more than I do and is epic fun on the back roads every morning. What it lacks in power it makes up for in the twisties ;D. And it owes me £200. I'm now seriously considering getting a ST170, they're about for under a grand now, and tick virtually all the boxes.

Hmmm, that's got me thinking! Been planning a solid tonneau for the back of my Jeep Wrangler, was going to use alloy checker plate but haven't due to cost. You may have just given me an idea
