Hope everyone wasn't too put off by the annoying Brummie yakking away over the top of it In all seriousness, that was an amazing weekend with some very special cars - I never thought I would one day be doing live commentary on the amazing Super Touring cars which I used to obsess over in my youth, or commentate on my heroes such as John Cleland, Anthony Reid and Colin Turkington. The rest of the racing was superb too - the Pre-'83s and the Minis certainly a highlight. I won't post too many spoilers, go and watch on the links above!

I thought the first one could be a Warszawa of some kind, but I don't think they had the big overriders on the front bumper.

I'd vote for a Jazz - my parents have got one and it's the easiest thing in the world to drive, mainly because it's designed for people who have no interest in or passion for driving, therefore is almost exclusively driven by older drivers and this would mean cheap running and good learning range for a new driver. One thing that your offspring needs to be wary of - you are twice as likely to have people pull out on you or seemingly act like you aren't there while driving one, as other drivers see a Jazz and assume it will be doing a maximum of 12mph.

Not a car related one, but Photonicinduction has recently started uploading again after a few years' absence - he's an electrical engineer based in Kent and does all sorts of mad science experiments, but patiently informs the viewer exactly what he's doing and how it all works..

I hope it's OK to post this on here. For the first time ever, the Friends of Hednesford Park's Summer Festival is going to include a Transport Show, and members of this parish are cordially invited to attend. The venue is Hednesford Park, Victoria Street, Hednesford, Staffordshire, WS12 1BT, and the date of the event is Saturday 14th August 2021. Already a number of road and race vehicles of all shapes, sizes and ages are booked in to attend,. If you wish to display your vehicle, there is a charge of just £3 to cover the cost of trophies for the best cars. Further details of how to book in and contact the organisers are available via the event Facebook page here - www.facebook.com/HednesfordTransportShowFor those who don't do Facebook, please contact organiser Jamie at jamie.hodgetts@hotmail.com or on 07838 209 939 Would be great to see some of the rare cars from on here in attendance, and it's a good family day out too!

I chose a driving instructor who had a Rover 100, because my mum had an identical one and I was going to buy it off her when I passed my test (this was in the days before everyone got bought a car by their parents for their 17th birthday, and I dislike being given anything for nothing no matter what it is, so I paid her for it). Passed my test in the instructor's one, then went out for my first solo drive the next day. I wasn't excited, nor was I nervous, just drove around a couple of local towns with a calm realisation that I could do it, and for the first time in my life could do something without making a complete mess of it all the time. Car looked identical to this one but on an M plate (edit - and was a 3-door).

Nice to see the Lucas Electric van - my dad was one of the team that built that when he worked at Electric Vehicles in Birmingham years before I was born! It's now in the museum at Gaydon I believe, really want to take him to see it.
