want it to be a economy car as the mr2 turbo is far from it at 315bhp hence it being a summer toy and the golf is a daily, if theres any mods that will get even better mpg then I'm all ears...
cheers

remove EGR (not nessecarily "performance" but your engine will love you for it) decat "performance" exhaust "performance" air filter slight lowering increasing breathing, reduces pumping losses = extra mpg lowering reduces the airgap under the car, which in turn decreases the overall drag = extra mpg so yeah, "tuning" it, actually gives more mpg... which is a bit of a head-wobbler.....

Removing the roof rails and mud flaps and fitting an undertray, as deep as possible front splitter and lowering will all theoretically improve the aerodynamics.
I do like Vento front ends on estates, they really suit them.
That MR2 looks like a whole lot of fun too.

different on each engine - but it's usually a case of just a bit of steel drilled to accept the bolts that hold the EGR on, and using it as a sandwich plate to block it off but.. if yours has an ECU, some of them do NOT like you blocking it off! best option is to do a search on google, or find a vw forum, and scour their search functions

Painted the roof bars in copper aswell and removed the front reflectors and moved the plate over. Started chucking some stickers on the tailgate. That was quite a while ago now and have done the following since Bolted on a oil cooler to the front, love the Idea from the J bosozuku style cars in Japan, it isn't plumbed in but just a ornament and a pedestrian hazard lol Also bolted on and wired in a big spot light to the front, and a roof rack. You may have also noticed the 50's style pinup decal on the mirror, I've got another one for the passenger side, got a few other ideas for it like raise the rear of the bonnet and get the wheels banded, maybe only at the rear.

And a little progress, with the tyres on the old steelies wearing thin, I had some other steelies with boots on waiting in the wings so I decided to paint em up and get em on this week. Key'd the wheels up with a scourer and wiped down, masked off valve and tyre edge and made a template up from some cardboard to speed things up abit. Decided on satin black, a little bit obvious but I want to sell the wheels on when I get my banded ones sorted and thought its quite a safe bet and looks ok. Decided to paint the letters etc.. On the tyres with a tyre pen. And on Also painted this in the copper colour of the old wheels and the roof bars.
