Can anyone tell me what I can use to take a moulding of a port on a cylinder head? So far this looks like the most suitable thing: ClickyDepends on how many you have to do I've done a couple of ports in the past by greasing the surfaced and filling them with half a tube of silicone sealant. I dropped an old inlet valve in the port half way thro in order to have something to pull it out with so it was easier Took a while to go off mind - first couple of attempts I tried to early - last one I left it a week and it worked |

depends how traveller you want to be. when I was doing some porting, I used alginate (the stuff dentists use for taking casts of teeth). it gives poor quality casts that shrink as they dry out, and isnt too flexible, but it is cheap and can be done in 5 minutes. it does give you a rough idea of the ports though   you can get it off ebay for less than £7 delivered |
