Model: Mini
Year: 1971
Mileage: 17690
Tax: Exempt
MOT: Feb 2012
Location: Birmingham
Price: £6750
Additional Information:
Posted on behalf of a friend, I do know that his reason for sale is genuine and he is gutted to be selling his pride and joy.
1971 tax exempt classic mini for sale. £6,750
Details as follows
Body panels replaced include front valance (cooper s to allow fitment of oil cooler), both front wings, door skins, door steps and sills, rear valance. All underneath was stripped zinc primered and undersealed, sills and valances stone chip primered and finished inside and out in original Ermin white.
All hollow spaces are treated with wax oil to prevent future rot, original bonnet was ditched in favour of a removable item with cooling slats (if you are tall like me you soon get fed up with cutting the back of your head on a standard bonnet when doing the least little job), under bonnet bulkhead and floor were all sound proofed and charcoal carpets fitted, the headlining was replaced with a much cooler looking black cloth.
Dashboard rails are trimmed in black leather "a la" cooper s and the dash panel faced in burr walnut, a radio/cd player fitted in a custom black/white centre console with speaker's front and rear. Front seats are replaced with charcoal recaro recliners sourced from an early Astra SRI; they give much better head and leg room than standard.
Twin fuel tanks give another cooper s look and also great range, headlights have been updated with modern halogen replacements and a chrome reversing light fitted, new bumpers are in stainless steel with over-riders. Wheels are black and chrome super lights with yokohama tires.
The engine (1310cc) is sorted properly with unleaded conversion, aldon electronic ignition (the best £70 you can ever spend on an older mini), improved engine mountings and stabilisers and uprated clutch, it has a K&N air filter, tuned exhaust manifold and stainless steel exhaust system all properly sorted on a rolling road. It is a lot quicker than standard and brings a smile to your face yet is smooth and well mannered in traffic.
This car has no rust whatsoever and is in absolute mint condition! Is garaged every night, mot till February next year, selling regretfully due to other financial commitments.
Lots of receipts, and a few spare bits and bobs.
