But of course there are some rules! Very few though! Insurance is not an issue,as obviously to some of our younger members, over 10 years there should be a huge change, however fuel and servicing are, their coming out of your pocket!!! No age restrictions, but any profit you reckon you could get after 10years would be yours, however, remember this is your ONLY vehicle,so buying a 20000 mile e type jag and using it for your 100 mile daily commute may soon start to seem a bad idea,I'm pretty sure any profit would soon start to disappear! Personally I'm going for a brand new diesel range rover, not the cheapest to run but a car that IMO does everything yet is still something I'd love to drive everyday. Have a few photos to keep you going!!!

I've got to be honest, even if I had to sit in London traffic every day for 10 years, I'd still have a Ferrari F40! Plus it would be a good excuse to have no kids and live somewhere with an awesome countryside commute.

A Dolomite. Predictable response is predictable. There are a few used as daily drivers, one of which does upto around 30k a year. It's on over 200k and still going strong. Plus, I like them, which helps. I don't plan to ever get rid of mine. Not just because financially it makes no sense, I've already put as much into it as it's worth (currently sod all) and still going, but more because I just like that car... We'll see.

Leftfield choice and I don't know much about them, but I'm going with an early Honda Insight. I reckon that the economy will pay divedends, the value will go up as electric cars become mainstream and as the technology develops upgrades and tweaks will become available. Retro-electric? Practical Eleclassic?

I too will stick with what I've got. Old VWs seems to hold their value, no matter what they are, and the Polo is cheap as anything to maintain and run. I don't plan on getting rid unless something irredeemable were to happen to him so... yeah.

I'd like to say I'd want to have a '29/'30 Model A coupe, but I think, ultimately, because it would be for a whole decade and do normal duties I'd have to be sensible and go for a sedan over the coupe for the added space I'd give you about 5 days before you're looking at it with a cutting torch in your hand and thinking, 3" or 4" out of the roof..... ;D ;D ;D

I had a Volvo 850 for nearly ten years. Cost a lot in depreication (sp) bought in '98 for £10400 3 years old and 70k on the clock. Sold in '07 with 160k miles for £1200. The most costly repairs were a wheel bearing and exhaust manifold. Although a few weeks after I sold it the auto gb sensor died and cost £250. Did everything I ever needed of a car. Would definiteley have another, but would like a T5 or better yet an R next time

I've had my e36 cab 9 years now but it's not really been used the last two due to engine issues but before that I could have listed the faults on one hand,it never actually failed to start, but it did overheat once or twice!!!I resprayed it up in the summer, had the engine sorted(or so I thought),got a ticket on it,a few lower arms etc and I used it for a grand total of about 2 weeks as it started playing funny buggers and lost all heat in the cabin,I think it maybe the main rad now though, well,it's the only thing that hasn't been changed AGAIN!!!

As a daily driver? Mk3 Supra Auto. Been running one since '09 and it's been reliable (it's not modded at all), comfortable, relaxing on a long drive, and still turns heads. I almost don't care i get only 21mpg

Leftfield choice and I don't know much about them, but I'm going with an early Honda Insight. Great shout. I bought a 2004 Lexus IS about five years ago never expecting to keep it this long but nothing has gone wrong with it. I'll check back in about five years and let you know how it's going.
