i have become involved with a local charity which recycles pushbikes, most of what comes in is of the halfords/tesco mtb style but there is the occasional bit of retro turn up currently awaiting their fate are a rsw mk2 folding raleigh shopper (twenty?) and a puch bmx (frame only) if anyone is interested in any of these just post up a message, they will be collect only often various racer types turn up but if there is anything in particular you are seeking then post up and i will keep an eye out to see if anything turns up ttfn glenn

racers are selling really well at the moment, if your charity is prepared to put them on ebay they should get a nice amount back for them.

there are a couple of regular customers for the racers, plus another outfit in glasgow usually buy them up but the racers that come in are usually poor spec ones and so not really in demand. (well not round here anyway) as for ebay we did have a presence on there but it was short lived as fees and ebays attitude killed it ttfn glenn

I've been bagging bikes from my local second hand place for a few years now. I get charged £10-15 a piece, and in the last few weeks I've had 11 racers and 2 BMX's....all 60's-80's stuff. They have a contract at tips for the decent stuff, and do house clearances. You would not believe what I uncover, I'm just on with tidying up a Peugeot racer dripping in Campag gear. An easy £150

I'm in a charity bike shop place in Arbroath a couple of days a week. Only started this last week tho. I did give them a few bikes when clearing out my old place. I got my white bike from there Dundee warehouse last year. Not much interesting in the Arbroath shop just now. A black racer with reasonable stuff on it. Think £40 is more than I paid for all my bikes. :/ Ive been to the scrap yard in Arbroath a couple of times recently. I got a Mag Burner frameset the first time. Then went back this week and got a Silverfox SFX. Its a 21 speed alloy frame and swing arm MTB. tho like most of there bikes, its wheel less. I got a Quando hubbed front disc wheel for it. Also a set of Aheadset suspension forks, bars and stem for my xmas bike. It was 19kg. they magnet tested the frame. so he told the secretary that it was half alloy and half steel. charged me £10. Had the Silverfox to bits. seems ok. Ive got a 7 speed block and a new wheel. but will probably just go get another wheel, as it'll be pennies for it. Theres a Bart Simpson chopper, that I'm thinking of modding. theyve got long chrome forks, moon bars, frames like a chopped mixte. they take 20" wheels. Bit small tho. will make a chopper type seat with a sissy bar.

well thats the folding raleigh 20 off to its new home with dirtybit Err well not quite, Shes made it as far as Barrhead, She might be staying here till I sort my garage out, I'm not wanting her getting all rusty! Well here she is, Shes a 1977 stowaway 20, a right wee peach, I'm well chuffed what more can you ask for for a tenner! Shes not perfect, but she works and well at that. Another 20 quids worth of bits and she'll be on top form once more. Detail shots, Ill definitely be making another trip to KCC, Everyone there was more than willing to help me out, and flog me more bikes ;D And a very big thanks to Glenn for making my first RR 'experience' a very pleasant one! Dale.
