high is the new low I think this idea is onto something, combine the idea of a lifted road car, with the post apocalypse idea and you have one bad ass 2wd lifted pothole demolishing mean machine..... This
Maxxis 753, 185R14C gota 650mm diameter and will fit on a 5.5" rim
here's a brat with the maxxis fitted:
14" all terrain tyres are very hard to find, I think maybe rally tyres might not last tho..
14" AT's are hard to get and will be expensive, its probably cheaper to buy a set of bigger wheels and the tyres, i have these on my Vitara and on the back of the Frontera which has BFG a/ts on the front.
More of a mud terrain tyres than an all terrain so probably better for the uk in the winter not to bouncy on the road either with 2 ply sidewalls but makes them slightly more suceptible to rocks in the sidewall, most AT's are 3 ply so a bit stiffer.

Thinking of swifts now, proper independent suspension, nice engine's (well i like em ) seems i could get the gearbox ratio i need and most importantly dead dead cheap. Light too!. However their dead ugly as well, hate these two lines, they define the whole car and the rear one reminds me of a whipped dog with it's tail between it's legs. The front line just make it's face droopy.
If i get one, the front would get chopped about (probably different indicators altogether) and the rear would change drastically when the archs get chopped. Still searching for a decent side shot of one for a photochop at the moment.
