Was searching for Weller wheels on ebay and came across these..... cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRISCA-heritage-Solid-centre-stockcar-wheel-rims-/130462201540Looks like they use the lips off olf wheels then make centres and band them to whatever width you want, with whatever PCD you want as well. Prices look okay to, concidering what you can pay for wheels to be banded. Obviously "not road legal" but the best modifications never are Just thought it might be of interest.......

they are quite cool, but theyll be so heavy youll need to upgrade your brakes so you can actually stop if you fit them!!
that and they wont clear 99% of disc brakes- the centre of steel wheels are pressed to funny shapes for a reason.
they're designed for stock cars where strength is more important than weight, they don't want the centres bending. for what they're meant to be used for, theyll be great. for a road car, not so..........

True they will be dead heavy (my old 8x15 wellers weighed a ton!) and the lack of back spacing will be a pain for most cars, as will the offset. But I've got 20mm hub centric spacers and the brakes seem to sit a long way in on my Omega. Was just an idea really, granted a stupid one mind ;D

steels are not much heavier than alloys believe it or not, was a discussion on driftworks and people were weighing there different banded steels against equivalent alloys. there was like a 2-4 kg difference per wheel, which isnt too bad !
