was great fun while the sun was shining and makes a monstrous noise, but not much use when it's cold and wet. perhaps not my wisest impulse purchase, think i probably should have waited till i'd got the space to store more cars under cover :-) it's based on mk3 cortina running gear with a 2l pinto, and I think built in the 80s but somehow tax exempt and reg'd as a 1945 morris? (has a current mot and runs fine) reckon anyone would bite on the for sale section here or am I better off sticking a paper ad in a hotrod mag or something similar, or ebay? i'd rather sell it and buy (or px it) for something like an mx5 with y'know side windows and door locks! more pics: rjmd.eu/etc/xsl115/

Wow, I love that. dare I ask - how much? hmm. yeah. think i got a bit carried away. was rich in cash after a big freelance invoice got paid. (tend to forget to invoice regularly then get 4 month's cash at once) ended up paying £2600 which i'm not sure it's really worth. i've probably only used it about ten times since and i need the garage space to start working on my cortina. be a bit sick to take a big loss but at the same time if I have to get another garage to store it, and get some work done on it after I inevitably leave it sitting in there for too long it, so keeping it and not using it much would cost me quite a bit of cash too I reckon.. although if it really isn't worth much maybe I should keep it and do it up a bit? garage space isn't too pricey down by the coast, paying less than half compared to london

thats chuffin ace is it a pickup bed in the back love this...... and I have an mx5 hmmmmmmmm yeah it's an open pickup, with a crazy bolt on aluminium roof which (after much swearing and some time) will fit in the pickup bed. you can also run it without the engine cover, and i've got some front fenders which can be added if the cops complain about the open front wheels you can bolt or unbolt all the bits to suit the occasion :-) here it is with the least amount of parts: and here with the front cycle fenders and roof on (phone pic)

Might be worth a punt in the for sale section, someone might be able to help out with a p/x. I'd happily roll in that all year round, love it. ;D

as everyone has commented. LOVE IT, my dream car is a hot rod. But never seem to have enough money at the right time. .....
White wall tyres Nato green paint with some pin striping lightly "over polish" / sand back to black under neath in a few places. jobdone maybe wood paneling around the rear deck on the ouitside like a "woodie". Lower rear fenders / arches? and weld a body panel in front of rear wheels below the tub where the chassis can be seen to lessen the right angle between the rear of the cab and the floor of the tub

I love the looks with the wings and roof on, thats the sort of look i'd like but a full 4 seater rather than a pickup truck.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

ok so I stuck it on the for sale section as a few people seemed somewhat interested. would consider swapping it for something sporty, odd, retro and or somewhat impractical as i've already got a couple of classic saloons

"Hello? Is that DadBank PLC?"
I'd absolutely LOVE that. Ditch the rims and stick it on some metalflake green Austin Devon 16" steels/crossplies, narrower rounder bobbed fenders, bit of pinstriping.....what a BRILLIANT summer tool.

normally i'm not responding to a 'for sale' topic when I have no money or so.. But THIS is EPIC shame I don't have the required amount money for it atm you're not interested in a nice, japanese sporty 4 door saloon with straight six and autobox? and a free TwinTurbo engine and manual gearbox too?

also fyi what it sounds like does sound a little tractor like but that's just because the last owner cut off most of the exhaust! it's somewhat managable in volume but at full chat I doubt mr policeman would be very impressed. if I were keeping it i'd go for a side exit pipe
(the vids come out a bit tinny on my camera, but it doesn't sound like a v8 anyway!)

other option if people have body/welding skills and time but not cold hard cash..
reason i want some cash from this is to spend on my other cars..
got plenty more than the value of this worth of bodyshop and other bits needing doing to my vw and cortina and not much in the experience department
could possibly be persuaded to reduce or remove the asking price in return for work performed on my other vehicles subject to negotiation..?
