right then ladies and gentlemen of rr. I'm planning a holiday to central france for the summer. i'v decided id go against what i know and love and actually plan what i'm going to do while i'm out there. the area is around the central and limosins areas. the question I'm putting to you great minds is what is there to do, car, race, or generally just fun oriented. the only thing i have found around what I'm looking for is Circuit du Val de Vienne. i think i heard there is something like a street circuit or similar in or around limoges but currently cant find anything on google relevant so could have just been rubbish. as payment have some pictures of what i did last year. thanks

I know what you mean - when we tour in the camper, the schedule is pretty loose, but here are a few ideas to get you thinking :
Correct me if these are outside your intended area, but we motorcycle toured through France, and these were central-ish :
Millau Viaduct (tallest cable-stayed road bridge in the world, or summat like that). If you go over it in the car you can't see how high up you are, so worth a trip through the lovely town of Millau below to see it from the visitor centre below the bridge.
Puy de Dôme - dormant (I hope) volcano. I can't give you a recommendation on this as it was a complete pea-souper of a day when we went.
Oradour Sur Glane - not actually fun, but striking none-the-less. This is one of those kept-in-memorium villages, the site of a World War 2 massacre of the entire civilian population by the Nazis. (sorry to give everyone a downer.)

Just a couple from my experience -
Oradour sur Glane is a really interesting place to visit. Not neccesariy 'fun' but really, really worthwhile.
Museum wise - Loheac in Brittany is brilliant if you are in the area, Le Mans museum is great as well.
My other suggestions would be - stay off the autoroute and use the RNs. Lot nicer to drive. Also, when you get there pick up a copy of Gazoline magazine and check out what shows are in your area - theres a big list in the back. There will probably be something worthwhile not that far away!
