On behalf of my boss...
Model: Mk1 Cortina
Year: 1962
Mileage: N/A
Tax: Full 12 months
MOT: Full 12 months
Location: Horley, nr Gatwick
Price: £12,000
Its NOT a genuine Lotus, but it does have a Lotus Twin Cam engine.
Absolutely no rust anywhere and has had very little welding in its life.
The Spec is as follows:
Engine:
Lotus Twin Cam (big valve head version), twin Weber 45 DCOE carbs, big header radiator, electric fan
Transmission:
Type-9 Five Speed gearbox, single piece prop, Mexico 3.7:1 final drive
Suspension:
Koni adjustable front inserts and adjustable rear telescopic dampers
Brakes:
Disc front brakes, drum rear
Wheels & Tyres:
7x13" Superlite wheels, 175/50r13 tyres
I've got several old Fords and by far this car is the nicest to drive. It's not really done a lot in the last 6 years but has always started and run first turn of the key (rare for a twink) it also has no oil leaks (also rare for a twink)
For some reason a previous owner has welded in top plates, but he did this when he fitted the twin-cam as a means of adding re-enforcement (like the type-49 Escorts). When viewed from underneath it is possible to see that there is not an ounce of rust in these. Which is pretty much the story of the whole car. It has had front wings in its life, and a single patch on one of the chassis rails, otherwise the floors etc are all original
This is a really very nice car, has been taxed and MOT'd every year since we've owned it as it will be if you buy it.
This is very much a get in and enjoy car and I'll be very sad to see it go.
It comes with the number plate that has previously been valued at a couple of grand.
£12,000
