Hi all I'm after a VERY cheap cover up plate for my run around. Please let me know what you have, if it's cheap - I'll consider it!

The DVLA, Regtransfers, etc do number plates from about £90, some even cheaper I think. Might be worth looking on there, even e-bay has them listed these days.
Cheers,
Stu.

Thought the idea with private plates was that they stood for something, or had some relevance? why would you want a random one?

I got an Irish plate for fifty quid on Gumtree. Usually available cheap although transfer fee is another eighty quid on top.

It was on retention cert', yes. It's MIB 1351, which just happened to be my initials. BMW kindly released the 135i a few weeks later too! Anyway, it cost me £50 plus fee of £80 plus plates. Sorted. Try sites like this one. I've seen some for £70 before although usually around the £100 mark. www.nationalnumbers.co.uk/cheap-number-plates.htm
