Hey everyone, Was wondering if i could get all your thoughts on what i should do with my Jetta's suspension, at the moment it lowered 40mm front and back, but having a larger boot i believe has lead to the back being lower then the front... which is never a great look, so what would you all suggest i do, lower the front a bit more to level it out? or raise the rear? if i lower the front will i need to move to lower profile tyres? to avoid rubbing and how low should i go? Cheers for your advice and here is a pic of the car in question... Thanks Dan

Always a fan of the "go lower" argument myself. Tyres would depend on the amount of rub issue and what you're current tyres are. How is it lowered at the minute - cut coils, lowering springs, coilovers?

pop in a bigger engine in other words, lower the front, "to low" does not exist...

my old mk2 was down almost 100mm on the front and I was running 195/45 rubber on 15" rims, looked brilliant
I'd say lower the front

Lower the front and raise the rear. It gives more rake, now the rake is even negative.

The most important thing I learnt from RR people and a52 crew in particular is to never raise and always lower...

Just remember whatever you do, it will shift the centre of gravity slightly. Currently I sit the volvo slightly lower at the back, giving a stupid aggressive accelerating stance but also keeping traction on my rear wheels

Lower the front. Then lower the rear. Then lower the front even more. Stand back and admire.

Cheers for the responses guys, Think ill probably see what its like lower at the front.
Its currently sat on 40mm lowering springs, i don't wanna go too low as id like to keep it functional.
Really don't wanna have to change the tyres as i have only just put new tyres on, it currently runs 195,50,15s i think.
If it rubs on the front is it possible to adjust the camber or is it best to go down to 45's?
Cheers Dan

There's a ton of camber adjustment (like 3 degrees) where the strut meets the hub.

mine was down on coilovers, went as low as it would go with the 195/50 profile till it ate them tyres, this was how it sat then I then dropped to 195/45 and ran it for around 5k miles then sold on, 18 months later and about 18k the next owners still got it just as low mk2 goof or jetta can go really low and i'm now really missing that car, might have to get another mk2 goof

I kinda depends on what you want from the car, if you use it daily, or even drive it frequently you might get rubbage issues with the fronts if they went lower, looks pretty low already to me, I'd raise the back if you want functionality and cool looks. If you take function out of it, then most things good as low as you can physically go!

the front sits higher generaly on golfs/jettas,when you are going for lowering as in not stupidly, you need to go 40mm on the back and 60mm on the front.will not rub and looks right for the car.
