Meh, they should have made slot mags.
Hopefully there will be a resurrection.

Hopefully there will be a resurrection. Another resurrection BBS has been here before. I hope it works out.

Maybe they should have just added the VW Scene Tax direct from the factory?

It's a shame really - they made some LOVELY wheels but they were just so bloody expensive, which allowed the cheap and nasty copies to almost completely take over sales at ÂŁ350 a set vs the best part for ÂŁ2k for essentially the same wheels.
I predict (and hope) they will be rescued, they are a company that has been at "car modifying" for a bloody long time without losing their brand prestige.

It's always bad news to hear something like this , hopefully they will be saved along with countless jobs there .

BBS wheels have always been too dear, so I'm not that surprised. I really hope they survive though, and go on to make more timeless classics...

The very first product of the BBS AG was NOT a farking wheel!
It was fiberglass doors for the Werkes Capri touring cars for Ford's factory team. Why? Because one of the founders of BBS was a Ford racing engineer, and it was Ford who launched him into business with supply contracts to the team.
Then, yes, they made the mesh gold wheels for the Ford team also.
They have never been easy to do business with... if restored to functionality, the company needs to become far more responsive to customer demand. Instead of "we know what's good for you, take this", it needs to be "whatever you want, we'll do it."

Expensive because of heritage probably.

Fakes available at 1/3rd of the price is what's killed them I'd have thought. How hard would it be to buy some BBS badges and badge up fakes as BBS. In this economic climate people are just not able or willing to pay top dollar for wheels. Have some BBS's

Shame, they'll be back though... plus there's enough 2nd hand wheels that I couldn't imagine buying brand new.
