Having a boy child of five I'm much more familer with this one Had a little look and found this v v v #91 Tim Flock Hornet Tim Flock's Fabulous Hudson Hornet #91. After 27 straight starts in Ted Chester's "Black Phantom" Oldsmobile, the owner/driver combo switched their #91 to a Hudson Hornet winning race #39 at Lakewood Speedway, Atlanta GA and then in the 41st [and final] race of the 1951 season the team finished second. The first race Tim raced in in 1951 he drove Ted Chester's Lincoln and led 27 of the 39 lap race at Daytona finishing second after starting first. Then the next 27 races the duo race was with the "Black Phantom." The owner-driver team competed in 30 of the 41 races that season finishing third in the final points standings. Plenty more too In action Any more for anymore? Racing or non racing all welcome. I'll just leave this one here

How cool would it be to have the word "Fabulous" emblazoned across the side of your car Not sure you could get away with it on any other car though!

the size of them cars (and the weight) must have been a handfull to race. The Lincoln Capri was a sucessful race car back in the day. Bigger and heavier and those guys had balls of steel.

I got an original sales brochure for the 51 Hornet for Chrimbo from my son. It is my alltime favourite car since I was a kid, I just want a Marshall Teague replica, the photo I have somewhere also has " Smokey Yunnick's Best Damn Garage in Town" written on it. If you ever get to read Smokey's auto biography it is a brilliant read of tales from the 50's and 60's racing.

Love it. You'd need a wholel tube of Solvol just for the grill and bumper of the white car Paul H Yep, these cars have an awesome amount of chrome on them. Jay Leno has restored a couple and even he grimaced in pain when talking about the cost of redoing all the chrome...
