Having joined up a week or so ago, I have spent many hours reading through old threads on the site. I am full of respect and admiration for what some of you guys have achieved.
Thought I should get some photos up of my 'beer car'. I live in a remote Glen in Scotland, as such I don't get out to the pub very often and when I do it's a £60 taxi. The BMW gets me to the pub and is left there until I or one of my friends can pick it up.
I bought the car from a farmer near Bath, the car had been his since new and has been well maintained mechanically. The body work is good but requires some cosmetic detailing.
As it was:
I bought some Alpina staggered width rims for it as the originals were a bit scabby. I'll have them refurbed at some stage. A visit to my local dealer revealed that even obscure trim pieces can still be had, the prices were a pleasant surprise too! Came away with new mats, shadowline bumper and door trims, and some door seals.
The Pioneer remote cassette deck has been removed for the time being, I have retained it to go back in if I ever fancy it. I bought an Alpine unit with Parrott handsfree to keep me on the right side of the law.
It has not turned a wheel since the snow came at the end of November, so I bought a Range Rover to take up the slack until milder days return!
Thanks for looking and merry christmas.
