I can't say I'd noticed it particularly, but then I am fairly laid back about what retro is and what retro means so that could be why. The spirit of the place seems just as strong as it always has with certain cars being considered more retro than others (and rightly so, I reckon). The for sale section seems to chop and change, there's a lot going on there and admittedly there's less of the boxy retros and more of the roundy retros appearing but I think that's linked in some part to what's available and up for grabs.
I'm liking the penultimate picture of the Imp/Stilleto.

I'm sure the moderators have already considered this question many times, seeing as though they do moderate the for sale section quite extensively. Not sure if they can stop people posting threads in the for sale section until they have say 100 posts, if that was a way of controlling it?. Would they want this though, because some people with genuine old cars for sale may not post on here enough to post their sale thread...
That to me kind of answers the question, in that they probably consider it reasonable as it stands at the moment.
At the end of the day what's retro? One man's retro is pre '80 where's as another man's retro is pre '2000. I reckon that argument has probably been done before a few times.
Rather than worry about the for sale section, I'd prefer to see the general board split in to two, say on-topic and then technical, but thats just my appetite and not likely one of commonality.

been discussed recently in the techy section at the bottom of the boards... I'm all for a 50-post limit or something like that, and if you don't have that many, PM a mod to allow it if the car fits the right criteria. It's not just in cars though, it's in all the sales, and low-post members can be hard to trust for any significant amount of money...

Why does it say "alolympic" started this thread when you view it on the General Board index? Weirdness!

This thread is too confusing...it might have been interesting, but now it doesn't make sense. Based on what I can see, I suspect the answers are contained either within the operandi or in the for sale guidelines.
