All those cars are overpriced. If I wrote that article it would feature the budget of £250 instead of a grand and still be affirmative.

just read that before coming on here, 250 yes but you'd have to do a load of work on it usually, i guess its for the average motorist .
Mondeo though? Maybe the manuals are better but the autos are not very reliable.

Under a grand? Buy a Ford, Vauxhall or VW that isn't falling to bits and runs. Surely that fits the criteria?

I can bring up a long list of cars I've bought for less than £250 and just started driving with no issues. Some I've put other people in too and they've had no problems either. It's no more difficult than finding anything decent in the £1-5k bracket, which are generally just as poorly maintained as £250 heaps...

All they've done is go on Autotrader, select 'under £1,000', then published the results Where's the Fiesta, for example? At least everything fits the criteria, though. I'd rather have an E34 but I guess they're making some consideration to running costs as well, haha!

Honda civic, i can vouch for that, although £600 for a 1992 that they paid? Bit steep, although, that aside, ours was £800 and has been epicly brilliant, love it!
I paid £50 for my saff, and that's been reliable enough for me ;D
