Mini Cooper 12G295 A Series Stage2 cylinder head

If it's a 12g295 head it isn't a 1275 head it's for a small bore (998) engine.

If it were for the 1275 it would be a 12g940 casting.

It would be best that they start the auction afresh, as they are leaving themselves open to 'wrong part sent so getting refund from paypal and keeping bit' (just had same done to me). Also if they relist it with the correct heading, then it should get more interest

Just to clarify:

12G295
used commonly on sub-1300 engines due to valve size, but standard fitment on:
1275cc Sprite / Midget (which is why it's often called 'the Sprite head')
Vanden Plas 1300 etc
Austin 1300 automatic (I know, I've got one)

12G940
standard fitment on all sorts of 1275cc stuff, including Cooper S and Metro (I think...)
can fit to 998 etc but block needs to be pocketed

The '295 head is "small-bore" ONLY, and is a development of the older '206. It was used on the 998 Cooper and Austin 1100 and Sprite 1100 engines. In the 998 it was used with raised piston CROWNs to correct the low compression caused by the huge combustion chambers intended for the 1100.
The '940 is a development of the AEG165 (the one that cracks between valves) as used in the CooperS of 1071, 970 and 1275cc flavours - all 70.61mm "big-bore"engines.
ALL BLMC factory big-bore engines had either AEG165, '940, '1805 or AFG163 heads. The factory never fitted small-bore heads to big-bore engines or vice versa, though many people have pocketed their own small-bore blocks to take the superior '940 head.
