Does any one have pictures of the original Sbarro car that this is a homage to?

Does any one have pictures of the original Sbarro car that this is a homage to? Except the Sbarro Golf was nothing like this! It had a 911 Turbo in the rear and the whole bodyshell lifted/pivoted up from a centre hinged floorpan on hydraulics. The one above is a huge rear clamshell. Nice work by the looks of it, but nothing like the Sbarro EDIT: Have some pics....

The Sbarro Golf is mental, that golf is just a mental imo, bi turbo S4 engine will be very very quick, 205 T16 style rear is a cool idea, but this place these days has made me a realist so i'll utter the words......IVA/ modified monocoque......still would love to see that on the road

Would make a a great time attack car or similar i'd imagine, though it's worth IVA-ing.

great. except with the amount of added weight (and the ballest under the front to keep the nose down) it will be slower than a 20v golf.
another small block gone to dogs stopping those who can't afford a GTI from driving a goof. never mind.

Eh? This would be 100yds up the road by the time a 20v had stopped torque steering and spinning the tyres. The engine is 260bhp standard, a mate had one running 400bhp with nothing major done, just bigger turbos and a better fuel pump iirc.

I agree with stealthstlyz, this post has no basis in fact. Mid-engined supercar Golf ftw!
