Model: Mondeo 'Zetec'
Year: 2000
Mileage: 115000
Tax: Until the end of Jan
MOT: NIL
Location: Kent (Sevenoaks)
Price: £200
The car...
The Good:
*Tidy, rust-free bodywork
*Strong 115k 2.0 Zetec
*ice cold air-con
*I'm the third owner
*Central locking
*Power steering
*CD player
The bad
*the last guy clearly had a dog or something, the back seat is a little 'off'
*no boot carpet (45p from a scrapper)
*hole in front bumper
*No MOT. It's not failed, it's just expired.
*small brake issue, please read on:
I don't know what it is, I suspect a sticking caliper. Sometimes it drives a treat, smooth, silky and quick, but other times it feels like it's being held back and there is awful feedback through the steering wheel. I'm 95% sure the caliper is sticking. I've driven over 2500 miles like this and nothing has fallen off, it's just an annoying niggle. I have no tools, no drive and no time to remedy it though.
That's it. I'll happily keep/fix it if it doesn't go. It'd make a presentable, reliable family car if you're on a budget. I love it (but I do have an odd affinity towards Mondeos) so it's no problem to keep it. That said, for what I use if for it costs too much, especially the insurance.
PM me if you're interested.
