Evening gang! Firstly as is the way with many things I've been meaning to do this for ages but ended up lurking and getting distracted by everything else on here Secondly I'm no writer so please forgive the rather basic wordings Lol Just under a year ago i went and picked this up from Central London, looking very sorry for itself after being used as a wedding car for 7 years or so ... ... solid in the right places, service history, mint interior but faded grill, no bonnet badge, a few bits of surface rust, in dire need of a service and a sponge'n'wax! On the way home we spotted this lovely Fiat Coupe (specced with chocolate brown leather ftw) and couldn't resist a photo... After washing her down and freshing all the dirty bits we got called in to rescue my sister from B&Q after she purchased a very large patio set forgetting she'd taken a very small euro box to take it home, silly! Rather practical these old barges! Few more randoms with the sprayed grill and monkey combo ;D the wall was like that before i got there! The only real plans for it are serious stickage, some hidden speakers and to put another 95k miles on it love this car!! And finally a quick shop of how i want this happy story to end, beside the Golf i picked up last week to mess about with I'm based in Rochester, Kent and am in Huddersfield a lot so if you see me around, give us a wave! That's a very nice looking W123! And only 95k miles - absolutely nothing for these cars. I need to scratch my 123 itch at some point, they're fantastic cars I think. Possibly the best car Mercedes ever made, in my opinion.

I like the W123 very much. They're the last gasp of the proper old school Mercedes, even down to their beautiful hub caps.

Wehey, another member of the Mercmafia. Nice looking motor. Is it an auto or a manual?

Thanks for the response guys ;D Glad you like it ;D It's an auto as all true, non drifting Benz's should be! Not at uni, family is in Kent but have lots of ties in the North so plenty of miles to be clocked up. There is no danger of it loosing its roots though as the hub's are 100% here to stay and always will be. Besides won't taking them off result in me having a decapitaed horses head in my bed? P.S:I'm having a slight gasket related issue at the minute *tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick* I've had a makeshift repair done but it's come back with avengence. Does anybody know how or where i could go about fixing this? The ticking is really ruining my street cred! Thanks in advance!!!

Are you sure the ticking is due to a leaking gasket and not a cracked exhaust manifold? If it is the gasket, just replace it and have your cred restored! ;D If it's the manifold, I'm sure one could be picked up from the various MB breakers, if not a local scrappy.

I'm rather fond of white w123's. A 200D and 230CE in classic wiess how both graced my drive.
Good luck with it.

... bit of help needed with this i'm afraid. The manifold gasket is still giving me problems, i've had a neighbour try to change it but he couldn't get all the bolts off ...he's handy with car greasey bits and pieces but this has stumped even him. What i'm after is advice or somewhere in the Kent area that can sort this please. I'm not being lazy as i've tried the RR search tab and googled it till my nose bleeds but nothing (apart from KenzBenz & places tooooo far away) seem to come up! All i want is someone who knows what there doing to change the manifold gasket *tickticktickticktick* and have a general look around the old girl! Please gang... help me and my poorly Merc! Thanks in advance

Whilst i'm updating the other one.... this is probably more in keeping on here. Nothing major as yet except black number plates and some older headlights, which i split and painted black I'm midway through an interior swap to one with rear headrests and a front arm rest (proper luxury) but i've decided its probably a better idea to nick the headrests and armrest and add them to my current interior.... I've still not been brave enough to get some lows that is on the cards though, a W123 isn't happy unless its dragging its belly along the tarmac. I have ordered a boss and adaptor thanks to bennyup, so i can get my wooden Nardi in, just waiting on them to get here from the States. Anyway heres a picture of her new face.....
