I got this car as a stop gap to keep me mobile while I fixed up my SJ, that was back in april.
Since then it has passed an MOT with just little welding needed on the sill.
Good points,
MOT until 1st July 2011
Tax until 31 October 2010
New front tyres in April. Rear tyres are good.
New fuel tank and fuel filter in April
Recent Exhaust
Recent battery
Oil and filter changed in April.
The car starts and drives great.
Returns 35 mpg average, 45mpg at a steady 70 mph
Bad points,
It looks scruffy, its got a dent in the wing and the arch trim is missing on that side, the bumper is damaged, the bonnet has been repainted and I replaced the tailgate with a blue one after a stone broke the window whilst I was strimming near the car.
The gear linkage is worn, when I got the car it wouldn't get 5th gear, I rectified this by making a new pin for the linkage which fix the issue, but now its starting to struggle into 5th unless you match the revs on the change. This is a common fault on B and C series corsas, I replaced the linkage on my wifes C corsa after only 35,000 miles, the new linakge was about £40.
In short, its a good runabout/workhorse, if you're not too bothered about the look and you want a reliable car for the winter (why am I selling it? I must be mad) this is for you. With a small amount of work and a donor maroon corsa it could be made to look quite respectable.
