Heya all!!
yeps am back, with another request for info on a random car that makes me 'oomph' hehehe
basically i'm sure i can't afford to repair my mini, and wants something small & fast to tazz about it that isn't a Land Rover
Sooo my current thinking is a Suzuki Cappuccino, as some are now sneaking sub-£1000 :-)
can anybody give me advice as to what to look out for on these?
thanks

Rust is the no 1 enemy on these things. I've seen a few for sale as mot fails because of rust. The seem to rot a lot more than other japanese cars of the early 90's. If you've got a £1000 you can't go wrong with an Mx-5. There's plenty choice and are a little more practical.

I had one when it was about 2 years old, it was great fun to drive, quite refined for a little car on motorways but you could thrash it along B roads like you were chased by the police. Servicing was quite expensive, I remember. Parts were pricey too and mine was new enough to only need normal service stuff. Rustproofing is not good, and even worse on the Japanese imports so be very careful. I'm 6ft 2 tall and I could just fit inside, but the seat goes back a fair way and the steering wheel is adjustable. Aircon is quite powerful, and the hartop roof sections didn't leak at all. Brakes, gearchange etc are nice and light and because it's so small it's a doddle to park. Having said that, if I was in the market for a tiny car I'd probably buy another Suzuki Whizzkid if I could find a solid one

I really liked mine but they rust like you would not believe. In the end I px'd it for my Clio 182 because I couldn't bring my slef to sell it someone. Mine also had really bad scuttle shake with the roof off, might just have been the missing bits of metal though.

Really like these, 660cc Turbo motors I think they run about 60 bhp, so they must be running at really safe, reliable levels, i.e. not strained at all, as most 600cc bike engines run over 70bhp without a turbo. They look really cool I think, and now I'm wondering what the insurance would be like on one, I want something a bit different when I'm 17. If you do find a solid one, make sure that if it hasn't been rustproofed, you get it rustproofed, as JDM imports have no rust protection whatsoever, due to the fact that they don't salt the roads over there.
