Regular car paint should be fine - the rocker cover doesn't get that hot, certainly not hot enough to trouble ordinary paint.
Just make sure it's really clean before painting. Not sure whether you shoulduse an etch primer on bare alloy rocker covers or not... I never have but I've read that etch should be used on bare ally. Someone better versed in paint than me should be able to advise.

Make sure you clean it like mad with plenty of degreaser, then soap, then wipe it down with thinners. When you think it's completely clean, clean it again, because it's not!
Avoid handling it, because you'll end up transferring grease off the bottom onto the top.
Ideally use an etch primer on the bare metal. Normal aerosol paint will be OK, but in the long term it'll get marked if you let any oil sit on it and get hot.

I used enamel spray paint on my old manta CIH rocker cover, straight onto cleaned alloy without primer. 2 layers of paint and it still looks as good 5 years later after 2 years of road rallies/ mud and jetwashes My XE engine was painted with high temp paint (as i had some) again direct onto alloy and 3 years of abuse later still looks the same.
