Make: Rover
Model: P6 3500 "S"
Year: 1975
Mileage: Approximately 165,871 miles
Tax: December 31st, 2010
MOT: 16th of July, 2011 (with no advisories)
I've a new project so the 3500S has to go - and to be fair, I've kind of run my course with it as all I wanted to do was save it from being scrapped and get it back on the road
This car would make a great rolling restoration for someone, or just an interesting classic daily hack - but it will require some work in the future to keep it on the road and going. It's been further tidied up since its appearance at the RR meet at the Ace cafe, so looks a little more presentable and usable now.
In short:
The car does have a stereo and two speakers fitted as well - it's hidden behind a flip-down cover just above the transmission. There's a line-in too for your MP3 or CD player, although the ground or 12v supply for the stereo needs checking as there's a bit of a duff connection somewhere and sometimes it just turns off out of the blue
Of course there's an extensive full description in the link below - but I won't bore all of you with that here

There is also an additional gallery of pictures, showing the car up close and personal, here:

Price: Well, it's a no reserve auction from 99p up - and the car's not advertised for a set figure anywhere else, as I don't realistically know what to expect for it - I'm hoping it'll make it into four figures (around £1500) but obviously it'll go for whatever it finishes at!
At the end of the day, I just want the car to go to someone who's going to get some use out of it, enjoy it and further improve it as and when they choose - so just feel free to bid whatever you can afford, if you're looking for something like this You might just nab a bargain!

In short:
For auction today is my 1975 Rover P6 3500S, with the 3.5 litre Rover V8 and manual gearbox. The car has a recent MOT that runs until the 16th of July, 2011 (with no advisories) and a current tax disc that expires at the end of December. LJO 190N has covered approximately 165,871 miles (i.e. been around the clock once) and had 8 previous owners over 35 years. A large quantity of invoices, documentation and previous MOTs are included with the car, covering its history in considerable detail.
In 1999 the car was converted from its original 4 speed manual box to the much more flexible 5 speed LT77 gearbox, along with SD1 cylinder heads for improved intake flow and a compression ratio more suitable for modern fuels. A Facet electronic fuel pump is fitted, replacing the original mechanical item, providing a more consistent and reliable source of fuel, with a Lumenition electronic ignition kit providing the spark. Approximately 40,000 miles ago both engine and gearbox were rebuilt and both are still in very good health. The car also has factory power steering, all-round assisted disc brakes and the 'Continental' spare tire mount on the boot.
LJO is what I would classify as a rolling restoration - the car runs and drives and everything works (and it's actually very reliable, I use it every day without issue) but it will require further attention to the interior, exterior and running gear to make it into a perfect car. As it stands, however, despite being 'rough and ready', the Rover is a sound, usable, car that still attracts an immense amount of attention and is great fun to drive.
