Quite a rare one this.
At the end of the production of MGBs the MG owners club made a limited run of V8 and even rarer turbo MGBs, these cars are so rare I have only ever read about them.
However I did find out that the turbo MGB used an all in one manifold blowing through a single carb in the same way as MG metro went on to do.
I have one sat here......
It actually comes with an 1 3/4 carb but your best bet is to get an MG metro turbo unit, it will also need a small turbo (silvia/200sx would be ideal). At the point it is almost a bolt up job!! The lower the compression ratio the better but even on a standard engine provided you don't go silly with boost it should be fine.
Only for sale as moving house and too many future dreams lying around, this needs someone to actually do it, a turbocharged B series would be a cracking motor, tough, reliable and the breathing issues overcome by forced induction.
Offers but lets say £50. No sensible offer refused.
