Model: Mercedes 190E
Year: 1991
Mileage: 133000ish
Tax: Oct 10
MOT: Sept10
Location: Ipswich or Andover
Price: £400
Additional Information:
Gutted I've just had the Merc serviced and given a general going over and ended up with a list of jobs that I have neither the cash, or to be frank the inclination to sort out, because the other 2 retros need loads of work and I can't be arsed to maintain a third as a daily any more So what's wrong with it? Well, the garage picked up the following:
Replace both front wheel bearings
Both rear shock absorbers leaking
Driveshaft gaiters perished (though not split)
Tyres wearing on the inside (Unsurprising when you consider how much it's lowered by )
and stuff they didn't pick up:
Exhaust has a slight blow, and knocks at the back
Passenger electric mirror doesn't work! (It's the only electric ancillary )
The stereo has stopped playing CD's
The boot has a couple of small leaks, I've alu taped the holes, but I think it must have a leak under the window rubbers.
The paintwork is a bit shoddy, it does polish up well, but is a bit of a 20 foot car!
So, what's good about it?
1.8 petrol Automatic (get around 28-30 MPG) Runs nicely, goes pretty well for what it is gearbox works fine, kickdown works well, and flies in Sport mode
Later Dual Timing Chain engine
Half leather Cosworth interior
Nardi leather wheel
E Class rims, 2 professionally refurbed, 2 done by me! Sounds gash, but they actually look pretty good
Red rear lights (Looking a bit tired)
Decent stereo (less the above) with decent speakers in the parcel shelf
New discs and pads on the rear for the last MOT, not done that many miles since.
New German style plates
It looks the plums
Any questions, fire me a PM, and have a read of the build thread in case there's anything I've missed!

I'm not after much, but reckon the wheels, interior (can't even find one for sale ) and steering wheel are worth the asking price alone and if there's no interest then I'll have to break it myself Might take a swap, try me
Oh, I'll have it at the Pod at the weekend for the Retro Show if anyone wants to come and look.
