where is mine on the herlad?
just had a front right blow out on the way home, managed to control it to a stop, but I've never had to change the front wheels before, is the jacking point just anywhere solid on the chassis? I just used the outrigger and hoped for the best, couldn't seen anywhere any better to stick it...

I've never trusted jacking points on old cars. I tend to use a scissor jack ('Widow-Maker' LOL) under a suspension arm, just make sure you do the physical effort bit of the tightening/loosening of the wheelnuts while the car is on the ground.

I wouldn't trust the outriggers on the small chassis Triumphs for jacking on, better if you can get the jack underneath the main chassis rails.

never use the outriggers. often due to people not bothering to remove the body to replace the the top taps get cut off. use the Chassis main rails. heralds come with a scissor jack to lift here.
I've seen people that have attempted to use the sill covers on heralds, often think maybe they should have never fitted them in firstplace. be proud of the chassis thats why so many survive!

I use a trolley jack under the rear crossmember by the diff for the back and a scissor jack under the front to get it high enough to then get the trolley jack under the front crossmember under the engine.

okay thanks guys. but due to the design of my jack it would be very fiddly use much further under the car, i put the jack i have as close to the main chassis rails as possible on the outrigger
