Hello all, - This is a copy of my ad just put on dolomite club, I dunno if many people here would be that interested. but if you know anyone who might be give them a shout for me
After a great week away at le mans I returned back home and as I opened my garage to see the sprint sat in the garage looking very much unused, I think its time to part. Ive had my time with it and as much as it pains me I think it needs to go to a new home.
So its quite hard where to start this car has been part of the family over 10 years now so thinking back at all the work myself and my dad have had done on it!
Very solid car under there countless receipts for a restoration back in 1993 car was then bought into the family and used daily by my mother, when I passed my test it was then sold to me, I drove it for a year before the head gasket went and I took on a long and ambitious project to make it something a bit more special.
I'm in debt to this club for all the years of help so this advert will tell our fine members everything it will be a mix of the great, good and the problem aspects of the car. I'm going to be quite harsh on her bad points. I.e what I see as a problem someone else might not.
its not going to be easy documenting the cars past and remembering everything, especially as I have always thought I would never part from her but, there you go.
The cars clocks show 34,000 miles, But who knows really.
Theres no tax or mot but cant think of any reason why it wouldn't pass.
Engine
Starter motor solenoid is clicking which is annoying seeing as the car had a reconditioned starter
Front exhaust mani engine stabiliser is not connected due to thread in head
Tappets need adjusting
Set up rolling road session is needed to get more top end power now the car has been run in
Head due torquing down
The piston in number three had to be dressed up and made good by M&J engineering Due to a nut going into the engine details of that here: forum.triumphdolomite.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10629&p=101728#p101728 however car turned out to be just fine after this mishap
However,
The car has had a engine rebuild undertaken by local engine specialists M&J engineering
Bore and hone
All new bearings
New pistons and rings
New Gaskets
New oil and water pump
New timing chain kit
The head was built by brain kitley and has been ported and has a ST cam fitted uprated valve springs ]
Sprint parts Vernier Pully fitted due to cam
Magnacor Ignition Leads made up for the car
Car is running twin 45 webbers that were practically new when I got them, bought from a guy who was building a rally tr7 but had to stop build due to divorce and they are as new!
The inlet manifold is a great looking item and I wince when I think how much it cost me
Low level linkage kit fitted to webers, once again brand new
Car was set up at the start of 2009 by mech motorsports in Cheltenham cannot describe just how awesome this car sounds on the rolling road!
Other engine related
Car is running electronic ignition
Rimmer bros sports exhaust
Facet Fuel pump bought once again brand new
Filter King Fuel Pressure Regulator
Braded fuel lines
Cooling is taken care of by all brand new coolant pipes and uprated radiator... all supported by kenlowe electric fan on a switch
Uprated alternator custom fitted from maestro diesel
Drive train and suspension, steering and brakes
Gearbox is good and engages gears and reverse with no problems but it is quite whiny, overdrive is currently not connected due to a broken sender
Clutch has less than 1000 miles on it
Centre bearing or uj on prop could be worn as there is a rumble off throttle
Car has had almost every bush replaced on the front subframe and quite a few on the rear with Chris Witor stuff the way this car turns in and grips is just bloody awesome the front end is SO tight and the turn in is awesome
Car is lowered on Spax adjustable and sits on lovely revolution rfx wheels shod in 1000 mile old kumho ecsta ku31tyres the dolly also benefits from uprated EBC disks and pads, Chris Witor lower steering coupling which gets rid of that horrid dead zone on the steering
Bodywork and interior
I would describe the car as a grade two car using the practical classics mag guide  Its is incredibly photogenic and looks great but this hides the fact there are rust bubbles on the car, Its light stuff on arches and front lip and on the surface of the sills and the inside of the passenger door shut line. under the car is in great nick and the car has always been garaged in our family's ownership.
Its got a good set of 4 speakers fitted and uprated headlights that make the car much better in the dark.
Paint is good in areas and not as good in others, Drivers door paint is not a great match.
Inside the car its currently fitted with rover 800 vitesse recaro bucket seats that have been custom fitted to the triumph mounts and they provide a great driving position, dash and clocks are all good and the carpets are acceptable, roof lining is saggy
Car has a webasto roof that is water tight but needs doing again in my opinion the vinyl roof too but its not that bad at all.
Car gets so many comments from people, be it in the know or not. just before I put it away for winter last year as I was filling the dolly with petrol came over and shook my hand and said he just had to say to me how awesome the car looked !
Thats the car now will follow pics for people to look at, Message me on here if you have any questions
£3895
Thanks all
James
