Model: Triumph Dolomite V8
Year: 1980
MOT: April 2011
Location: Coventry
Price: £2500 ono
Additional Information:
Due to an ever increasing collection of Retro Cars, the time has come to start making a bit of room.
I bought this car in November last year and have used it a couple of days every week since. It puts a smile on my face every time I start it up and I find myself taking the long way round on most journeys just to keep hearing the burble.
Unfortunately, I have 3 other Dolomites, a 205GTI and a XR2 lined up so something has to give. My son is 17 and the V8 is the only car I’ve got that I can’t insure him on. Also, there are lots of speed humps near here and I have to be very careful due to how low it is, so with great regret it will be the one to go.
Spec is as follows.
Originally a Brown 1500HL Dolomite, this car has been well converted with minimal alterations to the original car structure.
Rover SD1 3528cc V8 engine fitted
Custom Built Exhaust System with Twin Side Exits
Offenhauser Dual Plane Inlet Manifold
Edelbrock 500CFM 4 Barrel Carb with Mechanical and Vacuum Secondaries
Pancake Low Rider Air Filter
Borg Warner 65 Autobox
Custom Made Propshaft
TR7 Rear Axle
Custom Made Radiator
Twin 6” Kenlowe Fans
Remote Oil Cooler
Engine Oil Cooler
Transmission Oil Cooler
Electric Fuel Pump
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Custom Made Springs Lowered by 4”
Spax Adjustable Shocks
Uprated Dolomite Sprint Brakes with EBC Turbo Grooved & Drilled Discs + Green Stuff Pads
Battery Re-Located to Boot
Bonnet Louvres Professionally Pressed by Cool Louvres
Oil Pressure Gauge In Place Of Clock
There may be bits I’ve missed but that just about covers it I think.
There are some minor bits that need attending to but nothing that stops the car being used daily when required.
The Speedo reads high, probably due to having the wrong Speedo / Cable / Gearbox arrangement.
Viewing available most days in Coventry.
Price is £2500ono based on car having 6 Months tax. If I don't tax car before sale, then I will knock £105 off.
May be interested in a nice XR2 / XR3 with cash my way.
