Cruising around in this at the moment. It's a late 2.0 GLX which means..... Velour interior..... And premium audio! My plans for this mostly involve just driving around with Phil Collins blasting out. OH! THINK TWICE! etc.

Still like this car, can't really complain about something with such a high quality tapedeck. It's a Clarion!

Not a lot to say about this other than nowadays it sports some official Mazda moondiscs: Also pondering changing the headlights to "federal spec" (you could get some Japanese-spec models like this for some reason): I believe there's some kind of digital dashboard available too.

Nice car - good old Japs should go on forever, like the older 626 better than the newer ones so yours is good in my opinion. ;D

Hi, Had one of these for four years. It was a 1988 model, I was second owner and when I got it had only 52000 mile on the clock. When it died it had 246000 miles as it was my daily runner for work. This was until 2008. Only got the car to tide me over but it just kept on going and was a joy to drive and a shock to others on the motorway. Great cars.

Hirst. You would most definitely like Australia. Full of early Mitsubishi Magnas with techtastic dashes! Saw an old Mazda 929 t'other day too!

Most likely! It also has lots of barbeques and Kylie lives there.
However, I have no passport and any time I get money I just spend it on old rubbish, so I'm unlikely to ever see the place. Shame!

nice car i use to have the egi model (fuel injected) 120 bhp maroon with matching interior! lol, but yours is the reliable one as mine eventualy was plagued with electronic injection problems! my dad had a mazda e2000 van with your engine in it that went to 247k miles with no problems currently in nigeria converted to a mini bus! nice car

Yeah I knew someone with an E2000 van which had a similar fate, nice to know it'll still be enjoying service somewhere else. I also robbed the fuel filler cap off one at the scrapyard for my 626.
I hear those 2.0i ones can be a bit temperamental, more powerful mind! Despite me pondering various things, the overall intention is to keep this one more-or-less standard, so it'll remain on the old carb. Engine has only got something like 65K on it. I've been using it since April with no real problems. Replaced the front tyres with Goodyear GT3s a few months back, going to do the same with the rears so I have a full set.
