anyone able to help here
Last night a friend of mines eldest son took the family pit bike upto his mates, they were using it on a private road at somepoint however the mates oldest brother arrived and took the bike for a blast down the road!!!
guess what yes the old bill saw it, they impounded the bike and the lad is getting reported for no tax no insurance no mot etc no helmet as well
no paperwork given by the old bill for the bike it seems,(maybe because its an offroader?) now she has been told that the bike will be crushed after 14 days if not collected and it can only be collected if all the docs are produced ie tax mot etc
now my point is this, she did not give permission for the lad to ride it, infact she has never met him.
is it a case of reporting that he took the bike without her consent or does she face having to tell the two youngest that the motorbike bought for the whole family has been taken and will be crushed?
can they just take a bike when its not in possession of its lawful owner? seems wrong to punish the legal owner when they havn't given permission for it to be used, no different to stealing it from the garage and getting caught on it.
anyone any experience of this ? seen cars returned to owners ie mum or dad when they blown whistle and driver has been done for TWOC but the car was legal to be on the road
