I'm looking at offering a sandblasting service - initially it would be for small steel parts and steel wheels. Unfortunately I don't have space for whole cars! The Idea is do a few jobs to fund some more equipment for soda/beadblasting so I can do alloys as well.
Price wise - it wont be much! Looking at what some are charging, I've seen quotes of £50 upwards for 4 wheels. I will be keeping well below that - i'm not looking to quit my job just to offer a service and fund some tools!
Set of 4 Wheels up to 13" £30 Set of 4 Wheels over 13" £35 Add a 5th wheel for £5
May well add in the option for primer if you would like?
Small work will obv. vary depending on the items and how long it takes.
I'm located in kent but can't see a problem with people sending me bits in post/courier.
Would anyone be interested in this?

Parts can be done too - that would'nt be a problem.
Not sure how long a subframe would take or what other companies are quoting - i'll certainly look into it.

Just had my Plymouth subframe done (its about 6 foot by 4 foot) It was £80 including zinc phosphate paint afterwards. But it was in very nice condition so it didn't need a lot of blasting.

Is that quite a simple shape datman or is it fairly intricate? *EDIT* just seen the pics - sounds like a good price! I don't have space for anything that big yet though!
I would have thought I'd be looking at about £25 for a mini subframe as a rough guess. Sound reasonable?

I just paid £25 to get my GTA engine cradle and anti roll done so I think you're about right .What he did say to me was the more bits the cheaper as he can then stack them up and doesn't waste a lot of time and sand .I shall be collecting a few bits for next time .tch coat just done ,off to do the top coat in a mo after a tinnie to wash the taste away ;D

Doing a blasting service is a slippery slope. Only doing steel with an aggressive media is easy but once you step into the realm of media blasting alloy wheels it all goes down hill. Some wheel finishes like BBS's and whatever that clear finish from hell on Porsche alloys is incredibly tough stuff, combine that with all the little nooks and crannies on the wheel and it can take hours to strip one wheel without damaging it. It is just not something you can charge a flat rate for and if you charge by the hour it is so expensive that folks won't go for it.

I would always get alloys chemically cleaned . Sand ? no way, and glass bead isn't man enough for the job .Glass bead is for finishing not cleaning .

I'm looking into various media options for alloys - chemical cleaning may also be an option, as said for now though its steel only. Drop me a PM if anyone wants to discuss further or arrange anything Ta.
