Yep, Kind of still a bit in shock. The HG went on my SJ in the last day or so, so I went out this morning and saw this car. Its my 2nd car made in the 1990s, (the rest being 80s stock) Its a bit weird, it feels like I'm in the future after driving the SJ for so long. Its so smooth. It goes over 50 miles an hour! Its got a heater blows out lots of hot air. Its quiet enough to listen to my ghetto blaster and isn't drafty. Mot till July, Tax till May. New back system and battery. Good tyres. 1.4 LS (wooo) £350 Bad points, I filled it with petrol the minute I got it as it was empty. It started to drip petrol from above the tank. Hopefully it will be the fuel line. It wont change from 3rd to 2nd, I also think it is meant to have 5 gears and I cant find 5th. I am guessing the gearchange linkage is worn (done that job on wifeys 04 corsa) Its had a light front end knock, someone has fixed it back together with woodscrews and rattlecanned the bonnet. its not too bad, personally I don't mid the cosmetic side but the tracking and balancing needs sorting.

forgot these were getting that old!! Never had a soft spot for them if I'm honest, although it was quite fun driving a mint green one and just wheel spinning/handbraking it everywhere at low speeds. skinny tyres ftw!
My new modern is an Octavia VRS on a 51 plate!! I shocked myself by venturing into the new plate style with a modern!!

You paid a lot of money for a fairly ropey Corsa by the sound of it.

£350 for a car isn't a lot of money for a car by anyone's standards! But yeah - sell out! Lol, it could at least have been an interesting car, but a corsa? Hope it's reliable for you mate!

The journey of 1000 miles starts with a single coffee.
I don't like coffee!

I think I would still rather drive the SJ than a Corsa, though suspension does have its appeal I will admit

Never had a major problem with any of the plenty that I owned. If you ignore the haters and form your own opinion I bet you'll like it. Inner wings and boot floors can rot but mechanically the 8V engines are bullet proof, parts are stupidly cheap and they hold their value extremely well.

I've bought almost all of my cars for less than that, and we're talking with T&T, no issues, no fuel leaks, no accident damage... and Northern Ireland is notoriously more expensive than the mainland for cars due to the smaller choice. So yeah, it is a lot of money, by banged up Corsa standards. FWIW I don't have anything in particular against Corsa Bs.

ooookkkk.
You could find a car with T+T for £350 or less. Your award is in the post.
Yesterday morning I decided to find a runabout I went to my friendly local scrapyard car lot and picked this shabby car from the row of other shabby cars (perhaps the cheapest one of the lot) by noon I was on my way to work in the corsa.
I just wanted a car to get me around while I fix the SJ, My wife has had a few corsas and they have all run without fault for years (apart from the linkage thing)

Any car with MOT and tax is worth £350, I wouldn't call the 8v engines 'Bulletproof', but they aren't the worst.
It is what is is, a road legal run-about. I hate Corsas, but only because they look like a bubble, but hats off to you for finding something that got you to work for less than £400. It will always be worth £150 scrap metal once you're finished with it.....

Depends where you are and what your buying as to how cheap is cheap, i sold my jag with tax and test still on it and no faults for just under 350, Ebays full of cheap stuff if you look at big cars, small cars that are cheap to insure or good on petrol are relatively more expensive.

wayhey! just fixed the gear change issue by replacing the wobbly thin 2 part linkage pin thingy with the shank and head of an m8 bolt, works a treat.
My neighbour said I can put it on the lift at his work to check the fuel leak issue, it only seems to leak with the engine running so I'm hoping its a line and not the tank itself.
