Just curious:
i was at Weston hall transport festival last weekend and spotted a glorious 3-door sierra cosworth, whilst eye-balling the engine bay i noticed an alloy block on the front of the engine housing 2 fuel injectors, these were actually plumbed into the boost signal line, mid way between the compressor delivery pressure tapping and the wastegate.
What's the reason for this? ; is it for adjustable boost control (perhaps an older way of doing things, pre modern boost control units) or is it to stop the wastegate opening early.
so are they repeatedly fired open/ closed to vary boost pressure or are they closed and just fired open once on the way up to making desired boost to stop wastegate cracking open early.
Cheers
